Anniversary Accessory Trends for 2013
Apart from cherishing the years you have spent together, traditionally the celebration of any anniversary lends to the exchange of gifts that serve as sentimental tokens of love.
It can be a serious challenge to pick out something meaningful yet elegant at the same time. Here are some words of advice on choosing a gift for your significant other from our guest blogger Jane Brown.
For the special lady in your life
Earrings
A pair of pearl earrings for your wife is a surefire way to keep her heart filled with warmth and love for you. Pearls are also currently in fashion and will be a classy addition to any outfit and occasion, formal or casual.
Rings
Rings are easy to wear and can have great sentimental value – especially diamond rings. However, the usual ones are now often considered too mainstream, and instead, black diamond and sapphire rings have become the latest trends. You can order black diamond rings online if you are not able to find such rings, or have the time to in traditional stores.
The modern designs are also easy to wear with any fall or autumn outfit.
Bracelets
Bracelets come in a variety of styles, from thin chained ones to big, chunky ones. Your best bet is to go with something that is simple and elegant. Infinity charm jewellery is popular among women of all ages, so seek out an infinity charm bracelet. Gold or silver are preferable choices in terms of the colour to choose. This again would be an easy accessory for her to pull off on an everyday basis.
For the man in your life
Cufflinks
The design and colour of cufflinks can be tricky, but it’s no doubt a great gift. To make the process of choosing the perfect pair even more daunting, they come in a vast array of designs. A safe bet, depending on your husband’s preference between gold and silver, is to choose a simply designed pair of cufflinks that would easily go with his shirts.
Tie Pins
Tie pins also come in a variety of designs, but its best to go with a plain design. This is because a vibrant tie pin can steal attention away from the actual tie. For example, if your husband wears a fancy tie, then a garish tie pin might well ruin the look. Choose a plain, silver tie pin with a slight bit of etching to it.
Rings
If you have a very special anniversary coming up, such as ten year anniversary or perhaps a silver jubilee, a renewing of wedding vows along with the exchange of a diamond ring like the ones mentioned before would be suitable. But even if you opt out of the vows, a band with some sentimental words on it would make for a lovely accessory anniversary present.
Anniversary gifts are mostly about being thoughtful and putting some effort into getting something that holds value both in terms of what it is and what it signifies for the receiver. The ideas mentioned above will make sure that your other half acknowledges your initiative to find something meaningful and elegant for the occasion.
