Clothes I Simply Can’t Live Without!

Rare London have set a select group of fashion bloggers the challenge of writing about the “Clothes I Simply Can’t Live Without”. Now this is actually pretty hard. I have a lot of clothes (and a lot of shoes) and many are my favourites. I can be quite fickle sometimes and love a piece for a week and then move on as something new and fabulous finds its way into my wardrobe. But I do have some firm favourites. I didn’t really have to review my collection too much to know which piece was the one item I know I couldn’t live without.

The Glassons Cropped Faux Leather Jacket

I bought this on a shopping trip when I was over in New Zealand. Those who read my content regularly will know I do a lot of shopping in New Zealand and a lot of it at Glassons. First off, why New Zealand? Well I have family there so thats a great excuse but I also have a fabulous friend, who knows ALL the best shops to go to and knows what suits me. I met Michelle via twitter. Yes, one of those online friendships. She is obsessed with fashion, mainly European design houses and we just hit it off. Now normally I wouldn’t meet up with just any old fashion tweeter but Michelle was in London and having a fashion twitter meet up, so I went along and we hit it off. Two weeks later I happened to be going to New Zealand so we arranged to meet and have been great friends (and shopping buddies) ever since.

Now Glassons, well I just love this store. It’s like an Australian version of Topshop meets H&M I think. Some great essentials, some quirky trends and occasionally a jumble sale but there are always some great pieces. Both Michelle and myself own my favourite piece – the faux leather cropped jacket. It’s that good we decided that it would be ok to both own it since we live on the other side of the world to each other. It looks like real leather (but we both know it was a mere fraction of a real leather price), it is ultra comfortable and whats more it literally goes with anything.

Glassons Faux Leather Jacket

This is a similar style to my Glassons jacket – mine has plain sleeves rather than quilting

Well you do have to be careful as it is cropped, so it might not work with all lengths of shirt, top, or sweater. But I wear it to work over a jumper dress or shift dress (usually in a bold bright colour to contrast). I wear it on a night out over a top and skinny jeans. I’ve worn it A LOT to fashion weeks around the world. It is just my go to, staple jacket that I know looks fabulous. Granted it is more of a Spring/Summer jacket due to its length and the fact it doesn’t really keep you warm. But it does keep you stylish.

Glassons Jacket

I love that there is no collar, so the neckline and front sits well and then you can add a scarf if you like to break up the block black. It suits dressed up for the office or a press event. It suits a relaxed weekend look. And what’s more, I know that I might be the only person in the UK wearing it. Unless anyone else snapped up this beauty of a bargain when travelling in Australia or New Zealand!

What is your favourite piece in your wardrobe? What can’t you live without? Why not enter the competition right here? I’d love to know what my fellow fabulous bloggers have as their “Clothes they can’t live without”.  So I’m nominating the following three fab bloggers to find out what their story is.
