Colour me Cobalt – DUO Boots Bloggers Style Competition

Whenever I’m styling an outfit, the likelihood is, I’ll start from the shoes upwards. I love my collection of footwear and after going for a quick count of my shoes (38!), I only have one pair of black shoes.

Colour is key for me; coral, cappuccino, magenta, leopard print, fawn, purple, khaki…. I rarely wear plain coloured shoes and I’ve come across a fabulous pair for Autumn/Winter in my new favourite colour of the season, cobalt blue.

So I have my starting point, Blue Suede Heels from Bergman at Duo Boots (£120), now I can build the rest of my wardrobe from the wonder of the online boutiques on my favourites list. With these shoes I can see myself wearing them to the office, out at the weekend and at the cocktail bar. The look I’m going to build today with them is for drinks with the girls, at Bob Bob Ricard, a fabulous venue in London.

To compliment my shoes the perfect outfit for a night on the town is a key investment dress that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the event. This Sleeveless Leather Shift Dress by Theory at mywardrobe.com could be right off the catwalk of Vanessa Bruno, Chanel or Mulberry where there was a heavy presence of Neo Goth leather in their A/W shows. I just love it, simple but exquisite, easy to accessorise and build a look from and it can compliment any colour.

This outfit needs the perfect accessory, I love big bags but for a night out with the girls I need to be holding a cocktail not a large bag! So I always go for a clutch bag and the Jimmy Choo Chandra chain embellished metallic suede clutch is perfect. A sumptuous metallic hue that mixes well with the cobalt blue shoes, giving an edginess to the look.

So it’s getting a tad colder at night, one quandry is always how can you stay warm whilst staying stylish on a night out. That’s where the leather jacket for me, would normally step in. But I’m wearing a leather dress, so what is the alternative. I love this Zara coat with gathered sleeves. It is structured, soft tailoring but a little edgy which is how I would describe my day to day look.

This coat would work for day and night, smart and casual and will see you through the winter. It reminds me of Celine or DAKS tailoring and works well with the overall look I want to achieve.

So that’s my outfit sorted, I better get the girls together and head out on the town, mine’s a Cosmopolitan!
