Cuckooland.com – The Wimbledon Cut
There’s something about a hazy summers day, the chop of the tennis ball, the clink of champagne glasses and the polite applause of the British public – it must be Wimbledon time!
Whilst we root for the home grown talent, coo over the toned thighs, tight buttocks and eat our own body weight in strawberries this is the perfect time to enjoy the summer. I thought I would take a trip to Cuckooland.com, a magical world of stylishly quirky homeware and unusual & unique gift ideas for inspiration for my “Wimbledon Cut”. Cuckooland.com literally is a little bit on cloud cuckoo land but that is what I love! Their aim is to offer an alternative to the dull & mundane by bringing you the WOW & the niche in a fabulous online shopping emporium. There is a zebra centaur leading the way with a large fabulous bottom & their chief buyer is a kitten called Sushi – oh how I love the quirky!
For my ultimate Wimbledon chic look (and champagne afternoon tea at Harrods!) I chose the gorgeous Spaniel animal print silk scarf in blue from the Labrador Company. Made in Kathmandu by Tibetan refugees, is woven on antique wooden looms and block printed by hand. Oh how delicious this silk scarf is. So soft, perfect for summer – when a scarf is about styling not keeping warm.
Each scarf comes beautifully boxed and is a fantastic unique gift for dog & animal lovers alike or if like me just love a fabulous accessory – they are available in black, pale blue and pale pink and I took to instagram to show my styling.
I’m a big lover of a barrel bag – make sure you go the full fashion hog with a Wimbledon coloured, GI New York Barrel Bag in eggplant. Leather embossed python, stylish, big enough for all you needs during your day at Wimbledon but not so big you can’t hold a glass of Pimms in one hand and munch on your strawberries and cream with the other.
If you’re watching on Henman Hill/Murray Mount then make sure you are prepared. No numb bums for you, with the Directors Outdoor Chair.
Personally I like to picnic in style – so why not wheel in the Ice Bucket Wine Waiter – if you’re going to be out in the sunshine for a while and you don’t have centre court tickets – why not splash out on this elegant and practical Wine Waiter free standing ice bucket with glasses holder.
Then it can be taken to the Polo, Ascot, the beach – all sorts of fabulous places!
For those watching at home over a Pimms and wheeling the TV into the garden (be careful!)
make sure you have a Black + Blum BBQ & Herb Garden. Simply ingenius, this brilliant little Hot Pot BBQ by Black + Blum is the answer to stylish outdoor eating this Summer. It’s a barbecue and herb garden all in one- it looks like a terracotta pot, but conceals a barbecue underneath! Grow your herbs on the top to season the food you cook on the barbeque and impress your friends.
It will take you to the wonderful world that is the online shopping emporium – just don’t blame me if you lose hours of your day strolling around with Zeberalla and browsing the delightful pieces on offer.
