Dirty Dozen Races
As part of our #fitfor14 campaign we recently raved about Obstacle Races and how fun they can be as a way of getting fit. Fancy getting muddy, scrambling under cargo nets, jumping in cold muddy ditches and trying to climb over high fences. Well it might not sound like your ideal way to spend the weekend but it really is great fun.
Dirty Dozen Races
So what is Dirty Dozen? It’s a chance to challenge yourself. Test your limits, with one of the most gruelling obstacle course races in the UK. The races are designed by ex-British Special Forces with military style obstacles strategically combined with challenging terrain to test agility, strength and endurance. Oh yes and usually a lot of mud thrown in if they can manage it.
The Races
There are three types of races held across the country
Dirty Dash – 6k + 15 obstacles
Dirty Dozen – 12k + 20 obstacles
Dirty Destroyer – 18k + 25 obstacles
On the 5th April it’s the Dirty Dozen at the Hop Farm in Kent. Other events include 21st June in the South West, 16th August in London East and 27th September in the South of England.
A word of warning from a shorty, their obstacles are really BIG! They have been designed and tested to push you to your limits but don’t worry, there will always be someone to give you a helping hand, be it someone in your team or just and another friendly racer. There is a great vibe in obstacle racing today and especially at Dirty Dozen Races.
You can enter individually or as a team and if you quote LADYM you will get a 10% discount off individual entry.
So what are you waiting for – sign up today to an event near you. Or even if it’s not near you make a weekend of it!
