Perfect timing for the build up to Christmas and riding on the crest of an interiors boom, Edited opened in Tunbridge Wells on the 6th November 2014. A store offering an original and colourful collection of home furnishings, lighting, artwork, kitchenware, gifts and accessories.

Edited launches this sister store, after the success of their Gardner Street store in Brighton, that opened in 2011. Located at 90-92 Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells, the new Edited store aims to introduce a truly individual retail experience. One that brings a touch of ‘East London cool’ to the southeast, without the designer price tag.
I met up with co-owner Robin Johnson on a Saturday morning, as the streets of Tunbridge Wells welcomed the first wave of Christmas shoppers, and it was interesting to see how the store was received. Yes it’s a bit bold, a bit quirky and very colourful in places, but I think the style of interiors store and concept design will be very well received in Kent.
Formed by a love of good design and a urge for great customer service, Edited is fast on its way to becoming a staple visit for any design lover. Plus the team are all about making sure your shopping experience is insightful and enriched. This is no chain store and I guarantee you will visit time and time again as their collections evolve and change.
The pieces that are selected for the store are all based around the concept of good design. Robin and Alexx pick pieces that they would love to have in their own homes. They try to stock British pieces where possible as they know they have great quality and don’t always have to have a high price tag.
There are also well known names such as Hay from Copenhagen with some amazing glassware, Ohh Deer cushions that are so quirky and desirable. And the lighting, what can I say, modern, exciting and a little bit daring for your home but there are some amazing light fittings and funky bulbs to take your pick from.
This is my kind of store. Filled with colour, beautiful soy wax candles, cute illustrated cards and gorgeous cushions. As a soon to be new home owner, I can’t wait to transform the Jane Austen style interior of our country cottage and I know that there will be many trips to Edited to come. You can also shop online at Edited.co.uk for a great range of cookware, furniture, lighting and soft furnishings and some awesome gifts for Christmas (and beyond!).
What’s your favourite piece from the Edited collection? What one piece are you coveting for your home right now?
