French Connection Autumn/Winter 13 – Sketch to Store
For Autumn/Winter 2013 fabulous British high street retailer French Connection have teamed up with acclaimed fashion photographer, Rankin to show the stages that go into the design of the French Connection collections.
Titled “From Sketch to Store”, Rankin photographed the models in their natural form, then illustrator Joe Bird got sketching the French Connection design teams designs straight onto the images – so you can see the concept, from inspiration to in-store.
To celebrate this, French Connection sent me the fabulous Judy Jegs pencil skirt to test out.
The perfect pencil skirt, not your average boring mid length black pencil skirt. It has an on trend waxy sheen to it and gives a funkier edge to my office wardrobe. Super comfy, well fitting and easy to team with my Autumn/Winter pieces, I received a lot of complements in this skirt.
Worn here with
- Banana Republic Striped Cardigan
- New Look Heels
- Blue Cuff from New Zealand Boutique
It does have pockets on the hips, which took some getting used to not having a straight up and down silhouette. But actually it gives a little modernity to a key workwear wardrobe piece. The pencil skirt is well fitted with a concealed zip at the back, belt loops which were crying out for my sparkly silver belt to be tucked into them, this could be a great evening skirt as well as one for the office. Team with a bold colour block top and sky high black heels for a boardroom to bar outfit.
- Mint Velvet Pink Top
- New Look Wine Heels
- Stella & Dot Cuffs
