From Prim to Partywear from Marks & Spencer
December is a busy month. The festive party invites are stacking up. There are Christmas lunches, cocktails and nibbles, champagne after work and festive dinners as well as the office parties. During the week it can be hard to plan a party outfit when you are dashing straight to an event from the office.
So the best plan is to go from Prim to Partywear, from the office to the celebration in one day to night outfit. The lovely people at Marks & Spencer’s are pushing the way forward with the Prim to Partywear concept and got in touch with me to help me pre-plan my outfits as my social life gets a bit hectic.
I was lucky enough to get to choose a dress or key piece from the Marks and Spencer website, add an accessory and then style it from day to night.
The piece in question I chose is from their partywear section. The Limited Edition No Peep™ Firework Print Blouse. First off I was drawn in by the amazing print, vibrant purple and pink bouncing off a black background. Secondly I loved the idea of the No Peep™ concept. The showing of the bra whilst wearing a blouse or shirt has always been a problem to me, so no more peeping with this great technology. The No Peep™ designs have a hidden placket and concealed extra buttons to prevent gaping at the front, maintaining your modesty.
I love bright colours for the office. So this blouse adds a touch of warmth to the winter season. There is a slightly longer line to the back so it doesn’t show any flesh when you move or lean and works really well with a skirt or trousers or skinny jeans. This blouse is a chic way to dress for everyday, plus I got a lot of compliments when I wore it to head office.
For a day in the office I teamed it with a wax pencil skirt, black opaque tights and hot pink shoes.
I think normally at this time of year I would have to team with a long sleeve top underneath.. it’s just too cold at this time of year for bare arms!
By night for festive dinner with friends I moved to teaming the Firework blouse with grey leopard print trousers and golden sparkly heels, with a Diane Von Furstenberg clutch for a night look.
It’s easy to move from day to night, plus Marks and Spencer sent me the most amazing gift of some fabulous beauty products to ease my transition.
For a makeup switch in the office under a time pressure, the fabulous Formula skincare facial cleansing wipes do the job. Whilst Lola makeup is just perfect for getting a great look for a party. I loved the Lola quad of eyeshadow in just my perfect colours bronze, gold, fawn and chocolate, whilst the Lola Kabuki brush and makeup staying powder fixed my look. At the end of the night I could wipe it all off with the Ren rosa centifola™ express makeup remover. Perfect.
It’s simple to go from day to night, boardroom to bar. You just have to be a bit prepared the partywear from M&S is great for this and offers a fabulous range of dresses that can be worn by day and by night, just accessorise well, know your style and you can pull it off too!
