Jacques Azagury – Designer in the Spotlight
Fashion designing is not easy by any stretch of the imagination and it takes a lot to become successful if you choose to follow this career path. It requires you to have a variety of skills such as drawing and of course designing and also have the knowledge of the latest fashion trends. There are a fair few fashion designers out there, but some have really set the bar so high that meeting it demands unparalleled perseverance.
One such legendary designers is Jacques Azagury. The enchanting man behind some of the sassiest dresses designed for the late Lady Diana, who was one of the most charming women that ever walked this planet. She knew how to carry herself and definitely had great knowledge about fashion and style. Although her charming looks were more than enough to leave her followers enchanted, Azagury designed dresses that complemented her beauty wonderfully.
However, the famous couturier did not get the opportunity to design dresses for the vivacious Lady again, as she passed away in a fatal car crash in 1997. At that point, no one would have thought that Azagury will be asked to design some dresses for the former Princess of Wales again.
This was not the case though, as 16 years after the death of Diana, director Oliver Hirschbiegel made a movie about her life, and in stepped Azagury once again. He had to replicate the gowns he once designed for the gorgeous Lady and created a few new ones as well. This would have certainly helped him cherish some memories from the past.
Actress Naomi Watts was given the role of Princess Diana and she really did justice to it. Out of the total dresses she wore in the flick, ten of them were designed by Azagury and all of them were simply beautiful. However, designing those dresses was definitely a challenge for the iconic fashion guru, as the actress is a completely different in stature to Diana.
In the movie, Naomi Watts wore a long black dress, which was actually a replica of the one gifted to Diana on her 36th birthday by Azagury. In reality, the charming Lady from Norfolk had worn this gown during her final public appearance before she headed to Paris, and sadly passed away.
After the death of the former Princess of Wales, Azagury went onto design some of the most stunning dresses for celebrities, who often choose his dresses for an evening red carpet event. The best thing about his designs is that he always brings in something new in them. He designs and treats every celebrity differently according to the way they carry themselves.
For a fashion designer, it is extremely important to understand the person he is working for. This is what distinguishes the British couturier from all of the other designers and his dresses are still in demand. Recently, he created another masterpiece, which was worn by actress Sarah Harding at an evening event.
The dress worn by the blonde beauty had a cutout back and looked absolutely spectacular. It was certainly one of the finest dresses designed this year and one can expect nothing less from a person of Azagury’s caliber. He continues to inspire thousands of young designers all over the world and remains in the spotlight simply because of the fact that he is full of creative ideas.
This is why some bright names such as Helen Mirren, Helen McCrory, Elizabeth McGovern, Davina McCall, Kelly Rowland, Katherine Jenkins and a lot others love wearing his dresses. It will be interesting to see how many others he can attract in the future.
