The reliance on technology is sometimes all too much for me. I’m not one to wear a watch very often. I always use my phone to see what time it is. But what happens if you have your hands full, or your phone is at the bottom of your handbag? Sometimes it’s just nice to revert to timekeeping in the traditional way. I love accessorising but I don’t have a watch, so when wooden watch brand JORD asked me to review their Ely wooden watch I thought it was time to embrace the timekeeping world. Here I am sporting the natural green wooden watch with a maple face.

Shipped over from the USA as they ship worldwide, I love the small face as it isn’t over the top. It’s simple, in a classic design and not too much. The wood gives it an elegant look that isn’t too brash, as many metal watches are. Light, easy to wear and very comfortable. JORD watches are one of a kind, premium quality time pieces, hand-crafted with sustainable materials from all over the world.
There are no numbers on this watch other than the date but JORD assume that we can already tell the time so that’s fine. I like the simple look rather than having too much going on. What’s perfect for an often clumsy me is that it has a hardened, scratch-proof glass face and a single action locking clasp so it’s easy to take on and off. This colourway is easy to style with any outfit, blending in but still making a subtle statement. The Ely is also available in different tones with a black, cherry or maple face.
