For my weekly lust item this week; I have been swept away by Lara Khoury’s dreamy skirts. Lara hails from Beirut and graduated in 2006. Lara started in the world of fashion, studying in Paris with the aim of “drawing the world and dressing its inhabitants”. There is something deeply vivid yet calming about her collections. Lara Khoury’s style is one that is bold yet minimalist and you can see the desire for freedom in the textiles she chooses.

This Bulky Muslin Skirt in a sumptuous turquoise is my #weeklylust piece. This high waisted skirt is made of silky chiffon gathered at the waist with an elastic ribbon. There’s something a little bit Fifties to it but with the starchiness of that era. The lightness of the fabric allows the excess material to give a dynamic movement to the piece when worn. I can just imagine a scene in Sex and the City, with Carrie sporting this skirt and teaming with an simple sweater and ballet pumps. But it also wouldn’t be out of place at a cocktail party with a sequinned black top and stilettos. Multifunctional and multi-dimensional; yet oozing simplicity.
