Power Facial | No 6 Clinic
This week I visited the No 6 Clinic, a leading and highly acclaimed medical cosmetic clinic in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. It truly is a hidden beauty gem in the St John’s area of the town. I had no idea it was tucked away in a mews off the main road, the clinic is small but perfectly formed. Decorated in deep greys and soft shades, it had a touch of a French chic look to it.
The clinic specialises in FDA approved, clinically proven facial aesthetic treatments carried out by cosmetic specialist Dr Natasha Gilani and Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner Samantha Clarke. I wasn’t there for any aesthetic injectables but I was there for a Power Facial. The clinic is the ultimate destination for anyone wanting to achieve and maintain healthy, youthful looking skin. Now at an age where my regular facialist has said I need to think about (gasp!) the early signs of ageing. I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out a new facial and start that process!
Power Facial
So my treatment on this sunny Saturday was the Power Facial with Beth. She was brilliant and talked me through the process. As to be honest anything mentioning “peel”, “microdermabrasion” and “red lights”, sounded a bit scary to me. I had hideous thoughts of some kind of Hollywood Hills acid peel but my nerves were calmed and it was actually very enjoyable!
“The new Power Facial has been launched at No6 to help clients maintain healthy, youthful-looking skin and uses a combination of advanced treatments in 45 minutes to produce amazing results”.
Firstly, the skin is deeply exfoliated using a facial peel which really wasn’t as bad as I had feared. A little tingly and a little uncomfortable but that is the gentle acid breaking down the serum that holds all your dead skin cells together, so actually you can feeling it working its magic. This removes those cells and allows the products to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin.
Then I was placed under an Omnilux medical infra red light, which plumps out the skin by stimulating collagen and increasing hydration. Apparently this twenty minute session under the light is like having twenty facials at once!
Now a word of warning, this is a BRIGHT red light but it doesn’t damage your eyes at all and just takes a while to get used to. It was actually very relaxing and whilst I lay there imagining I was on a beach somewhere, Beth took my relaxation to the next level with a reflex point foot massage, which was amazing.
After twenty minutes under the light a high strength antioxidant Idebenone combined with AHA and Vitamin A mask was applied and I got to have a little shoulder massage too. So as well as working wonders for the skin it also is a truly relaxing treatment.
This unique and multi-tasking treatment rebuilds, refirms, evens and smooths the appearance of the skin. I felt amazing afterwards, and it just really woke me up for the day, leaving me feeling revitalised and powerful, ready for a glorious sunny day, plus my skin felt amazingly soft and just fabulous!
No 6 clinic offers a great range of treatments for anti ageing and skin conditions such as acne and rosacea as well as having beauty rooms across the mews who host a full range of beauty, holistic and reflexology treatments by independent therapists. Find out more at the No6 Clinic website.
