But how can you actually go for this alternative to what we all know as the hen party norm? You might think your wardrobe is filled with real vintage pieces but over these few hours you’ll delve into a bygone era with the experts – showing you how to spot a real vintage piece from a fake.
After you’ve filled up on knowledge, it’s time to relax with your friends in this vintage boutique over some tea, French cakes and champagne, all while listening to some music from the era.
Perfume Making
So now you’ve got the look, it’s time to smell the part and instead of taking a stroll around Boots to find the perfect scent, why not use this as your opportunity to make one? Who wouldn’t want to have their very own scent? Don’t worry, it won’t be some cheesy Britney Spears inspired perfume, but will instead be an experience that is as sophisticated as it gets. Moulin Rouge is something that captures the vintage era better than most other things out there, so this could be just the centrepiece of the hen party you’re looking for… but how? I’m not just talking about sticking the film on (although you could do that the night before or after for a little chill out with your friends) but actually embarking on a Moulin Rouge Experience. This is offered in many different hen-centric cities and see’s you all throwing on can-can skirts and learning how to throw those legs high as well as spicing things up with a bit of burlesque.
If you’re going to go all out though, I can’t think of anything better than actually heading to Paris for your vintage hen weekend and setting sets on Montmartre before going to see the actual show.
Where to Actually Go?
Talking of places to go to fill up on vintage style, where else should you mark out to be the setting for this sophisticated weekend? Staying on home soil, I would recommend Bath for its picturesque beauty and history, along with London or Edinburgh for much of the same if you look in the right places!
