Weekly Lust |Imogen Riding Jacket

The weekly lust concept for this online fashion magazine was supposed to be all about key pieces in fashion, beauty and lifestyle (read homeware!) that I really covet. Well this weeks piece truly is that.

Ever since the Autumn/Winter 13 Phase Eight press day I was eagerly waiting the release of the AW collection in store and online so that I could finally fulfil my requirement for a tweed jacket. I’d been browsing the net for a while, keeping my eye out across the British high street and then somehow, probably during New Zealand Fashion Week, I missed the AW drop in store.

The piece in question is the Imogen Riding Jacket from Phase Eight. I was reminded of my desire for the jacket during my recent dress up day at Phase Eight on James Street in London when I spotted it again. Sadly in a size 12, (I needed a size 10) but I tried it on for size anyway.

The Imogen Riding Jacket is a true British classic jacket featuring full length sleeves with buttoned cuffs and a single breasted button front. This fitted jacket has flap pocket detailing at the front and the option of a reversible contrast collar. And rather excitingly elbow pads. It comes in grey marl tweed and original tweed and actually I prefer the grey myself.

Sadly much scouring online and with Phase Eight stores led to no more size 10′s in stock. But further investigation showed that House of Fraser were stocking it still (only seven left) and were having a discount day, so I was rather pleased to get it at a reduced rate. Even though I would have paid full price for this lovely jacket.

It is arriving this week and I cannot wait to finally wear my coveted piece. The jacket is so soft, feels so comfortable on and fits so well. I’ll be teaming it with a white shirt and skinny jeans and my winter riding boots for a relaxed weekend look but also teaming with my fitted pencil skirt dresses for a sleek look in the office.

Welcome Imogen, to my wardrobe, I’ve been expecting you.
