Phoenix Cosmetics – Truly Outrageous at New Zealand Fashion Week
On the final day of New Zealand Fashion Week 2012 the Sunday Star-Times presented to the fashion pack something truly spectacular. With a few sore heads on the Front Row after the Stolen Girlfriends Club after party.. we were all of a sudden revved up, and taken back to the 80′s at the Westpac Shed.
OMG! New Zealand Fashion Week does bring us some treats. After the operatics, dancing and bird calls at Kagi, the lycra was rolled out, hip hop dancers jumped up and the music was pumping. With tracks booming out of “Let’s Get Physical”, “Girls just wanna have fun” and the “Flash Dance” theme song, the 80′s glam was here in the Phoenix Cosmetics Truly Outrageous show. A glamourous show that entertained us whilst showcasing the Phoenix Cosmetics Summer Collection.
It’s difficult to stage a makeup show but the Auckland based Phoenix Cosmetics team did it so well with four segments of bright colours, amazing detail and an amazing concept from owner Phoenix Renata.
This was possibly one of the best shows at New Zealand Fashion Week for content. It was bursting with neon fun, gigantic hair (not always the models natural colour!), amazing tight fitting outfits and a lot of bling. The show was well choreographed, staged and put together and had the fashion crowd gasping, laughing and dancing in their seats.
From segment one of “colour splash” through to a “Flash Dance” homage, we then headed to “glam rock” and closed with a tribute to the 1980′s TV programme Jem and a “Truly Outrageous” finale.
There were sparkles, sequins and Swarovski mixed with attitude, colour and a trendy vibe. All showcasing amazing makeup skills and a summer trends collection– this show was Truly Outrageous!
