Selfridges | Christian Louboutin Beauté
This month saw the exciting launch of Christian Louboutin Beauté at Selfridges with the launch the new Rouge Louboutin nail colour. This is the beauty hall at Selfridges on the 14th August in a dedicated pop up site and there are 30 more fabulous colours that will launch exclusively at Selfridges on the 25th of August; a week before any other retailer.
If there ever was such a fabulous story about the creation of a brand in the fashion world, Christian Louboutin’s is one of them. The launch of the rouge nail colour certainly pays homage to the starting point of this historic name in fashion.
“A milestone in the history of Christian Louboutin is the way he created ‘Pensée’, a shoe designed in 1992 influenced by Warhol and the Pop Art movement. Having drawn the shoe perfectly to his satisfaction, he was disappointed when he saw the prototype. Something was missing, even though it was very close to the initial drawing.While staring at the prototype he saw his assistant painting her nails at her desk next to him. He spontaneously grabbed the nail polish and proceeded to paint the sole of the shoe. He liked it… HE LOVED IT…. ET VOILA! The signature red sole was born.” Selfridges

The pop up site in the beauty hall is a dedicated beauty space, ready for all Christian Louboutin fans to “immerse themselves in the creative process” behind the latest venture from the brand. The nail colour bottles certainly are a piece of design work and in the pop up shop you can see the shapes of the bottles re-imagined in a mysterious city landscape.
The colours
There are three colour groupings to the Christian Louboutin nail colour range in their Beauté brand.
The Pops
Of course nothing but bright colours to really add a touch of “wow!” to your outfit
The Nudes
Named after a recent capsule collection of the same name. A rose gold cap balances out the vanillas, soft pinks and cappuccino and chocolate in this collection.
The Noirs
Are an intense collection. Featuring dark browns, emerald greens, blacks and a gunmetal cap to showcase the deep tones
The new Christian Louboutin Beauté nail colours are £36 and will be available after their exclusive week at Selfridges, in all Christian Louboutin boutiques.
