South of France Beachside Wardrobe
At the end of May I will be taking a well earned break to the French Riviera avec Monsieur L. Lazy sunny days, croissants and coffee, chilled white wine by the beach and leisurely dinners with the most amazing French cuisine. As well as some tourism and travel from Cannes to Antibes, Monaco and Nice and a dip into the Provencal hills. So naturellement, I need a fabulous summer holiday wardrobe to see that I am stylish on my sojourn to the South of France.
Nautical Twist
This week I’ve been raving about the long reign that the nautical trend has kept in the summer fashion stakes. I just love it and it’s easy to wear and style up. I love this Seaview Tie Front Halter Maillot by Seafolly – stripy without being too in your face and this season I am embracing the swimsuit more than the bikini I think. There is something more elegant and sophisticated about an all in one and it can look amazing finished off with a pair of navy wedge espadrilles from MICHAEL Michael Kors. To complete the day look I’m throwing in a Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren maxi dress as a cover-all; in a crisp white – even if the stripes show through it is a fun seaside look.
Tropical Paradise
My other favourite trend for SS13, that I loved at Issa London’s LFW show is the tropical island, garden of eden, paradise isle. Think birds of paradise, tropical plants and great bright, bold prints.
I love this Bonita push up bikini by Cole of California – it’s bright but not too crazy. I think a nice cropped black short, from Charter Club, that would work with this well and some fabulous heels to take your look from the pool to the beach bar. These Kate Spade Liquorice heels in emerald green snakeskin print are divine and would work fabulously with the print in the bikini top.
Colour Block
Cobalt blue is my favourite colour for SS13. Luscious, striking and perfect with a whole range of complementary colours and accessories. The Taj Mahal Bikini by Becca suits me down to the ground. I also love that is looks to incorporate the lace trend a little – check out the close up. With the gold front open clasp on this bikini, I want to style it with gold wedges. But you can also wear with a cute flat too like these Tory Burch Beacher stripe flat espadrilles in flame red. I think a great relaxed look with this is an tie front white shirt and cropped denim shorts for those lazy summer afternoons browsing the stores in St Tropez.
There are so many possibilities. So many combinations of great swimwear and fabulous footwear for Spring/Summer. Get browsing and stock up on the latest trends.
