Sponsored Video: Schwarzkopf ULTRA BRIGHTS
I have dark hair and it’s very thick. People often say to me “Oh, I’d love to have your hair!”. Well most of the time I have hair envy towards other people. There was the odd hair dye attempt at university and the occasional lowlights but I’ve never really dabbled in hair colour much. But now I’m really tempted.
International hair products brand Schwarzkopf have developed a range called ULTRA BRIGHTS. Think Kelly Osborne and her many pastel hue hair-dos, Katie Perry’s hot pink and Rihanna’s fiery red. Hot hair colour is not just for celebrities, you can get it too.
Schwarzkopf have released four tutorial videos on how to achieve four new colour looks; a full head refresh, pastel colours, dip dye and streaks; with great advice on preparation and a demonstration on how to apply the hair colour.
I’ve chosen two of my favourite looks in the video below. Make sure you’re prepared; have gloves (provided in the pack), an old towel, vaseline (to avoid dying your hairline), timer and probably some patience! If you have dark hair like me, you’ll need to pre-lighten your hair first so that the semi-permanent dye takes hold.
Dip Dye Desires
Dip Dyed hair is everywhere at the moment. Make sure you backbrush your hair first so that the colour fades down the hair and is a subtle change in tone, otherwise you might end up with a straight line!
What colour will you go for? Fiery Copper? Raspberry Ripple?
This isn’t a look I thought I would go for since I have such dark hair. It works on natural blondes and lighter coloured hair but can really make you step into Spring and prepare for a summer of ice cream hues. Use a wide tooth comb to really work the colour through your hair; leave on longer if you are starting with darker hair.
