We get invited to a lot of events at London Fashion Week. But one that has caught our eye this season is the “Sculpture Wedding”. A unique event where fashion comes alive in the form of sculptures, which sounds very intriguing.

Taking place during London Fashion Week on February 17th, the Sculpture Wedding AW13 is a contemporary catwalk in the streets of Central London from 12pm till 4pm, followed by a private viewing at 6:30pm.

We will be heading to the private viewing and reporting back but this unique walk is a fashion collection presentation to the general public and has never been done before. Models will circulate the West End area of London for a few hours before heading to the Running Horse in Mayfair, London for the private event.

Sculptured Wedding is the concept from designer Sarmite Ostanevica. She draws inspiration from the classical forms of various sculptures, fabric movement, and the elegant silhouette of a bride. Whilst using her love of tailoring and fascination with the surreal to merge the classical form with contemporary style.

Sarmite is known for her sharp silhouettes and contemporary cuts, along with a passion to connect fashion with art. Her signature pieces are clean and sharp with a surreal edge complemented by fine detail.

Sarmite debuted her first fashion show in Riga, Latvia in November 2010 with her Spring/Summer 2011 collection Feminine Army. Sculpture wedding event is a collaborative exhibition involving fashion designer Sarmite Ostanevica and up and coming London based artists. 
 Through the creative touch of talented artists Sculpture wedding captures Sarmite’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection what will be showcased in a series of elegant and epic sculptures.
