This week as been the real challenge – how to style the Lacoste Live scarf. Especially since it is smaller than your normal waterfall scarf and square. Tricky, to say the least – and I’m not really a scarf wearer so I have struggled. I’ve even taken to watching youtube videos on “25 ways of how to wear a scarf” for inspiration. To be honest it’s not helped me too much but I have tried to be creative.

Style Challenge Post 5

So for this style challenge the theme was going shopping with the girls and the Lacoste Live scarf really reminds me of summer holidays and travel. So I couldn’t wait to wear my most jolliest skirt I have that features a gorgeous little seaside theme in corals, minty greens and blues on a white backdrop. Here I have styled the scarf on my handbag. I’ve seen this on many bags you can buy in store with the scarf already on and I have seen ladies style a scarf in this way.. I think I left it a little too free-flowing. But I like the twist it gives to my cute coral satchel bag.

Then I got a little crazy and thought – “how about a head scarf?” hmm it was fun but it’s not a look I would leave the house in!

Style Challenge Post 6

Now for a look for a dinner date. I’ve just bought this fab new Duchess dress from Louche for my summer holiday and I couldn’t wait to style it up a little. I decided to go for a belt concept with the scarf this time to add some depth to the look. A skinny style belt and a sash japanese style Obi belt. Sadly you can’t see much of the print this way but I like how it breaks up the colour and gives it a little twist.

For me a work outfit needs to be comfortable, classic and stylish. Dashing around fashion events and meetings require me to be relatively smart. Although the Natalie wedges from Carvela at Kurt Geiger are high, with a little bit of practice and not too much champagne at events I think they are manageable.

In the second of my styling posts I work with the Natalie wedge shoe from Carvela by Kurt Geiger again,  This time putting together a look for a day out shopping with the girls.  I know that patterns shouldn’t really clash but I love these snakeskin harem pants and think they work well with the green in the wedges.  Snakeskin is one of the prints of the season and I could see myself shopping in Cannes or Nice or a sunny day on Chelsea’s Kings Road in the outfit.

Style Challenge

For the next two weeks in collaboration with Fashion Fling fortnight, I will be posting six style posts of outfits I have styled thanks to two key fashion pieces McArthurGlen have kindly gifted to me. First up the Natalie wedge shoe from Carvela by Kurt Geiger.

Wow! I love a wedge for the summer months and boy these do not disappoint! They are seriously high but fabulously cool and comfortable, plus in a gorgeous green hue mix that normally I wouldn’t have picked out, but I really love this colourway for summer.

The second piece is the cutest Lacoste Live scarf full of fun illustrations of holiday essentials and fun times that really made me think of summer and put a smile on my face.

For the Fashion Fling fortnight I will be styling each piece in three ways; a work outfit, a shopping trip with the girls and a dinner date. I simply couldn’t wait to get started.

Fashion Fling Style 1

I love putting together an outfit for a night out – so this came naturally for me.  With gorgeous greens mixing with tans and muted browns I thought these wedges would be set off perfectly with a Little Black Dress. Well, ok, it’s a black and cream swirl dress from Oasis but a nice variation of the LBD. The clean lines and cinched in waist work well with the height of the wedges and I think it’s the perfect little outfit for a night out with my dashing gentleman.
