From the 5th to the 8th of August the airport’s North Terminal will host a fashion week with a glamorous catwalk runway. Celebrity Stylist Kirsty Drury will present the fashion week and be giving style and fashion tips to airport passengers. All in aid of raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, London
The Gatwick Fashion Week will feature the best that the airport’s many shops can offer, with some fantastic discounts to be found. The catwalk will showcase a selection of women’s, men’s and children’s summer holiday outfits from stores such as Ted Baker, All Saints, Mango and Superdry.
There will be a stylist area where Kirsty Drury and her team of stylists will be demonstrating how to achieve the perfect beach or evening look for your holiday.
UK model Lily Cole will be judging at the Gatwick Runway Models competition, where one boy and one girl will be offered a New Faces contract with the model agency, Storm.
Storm’s very own Kate Moss started her career after being spotted at JFK airport in the US. Kim Francis a spokeswoman for Gatwick airport commented on the event, “Gatwick Runway Models aims to take advantage of this pool of talent and recreate Storm’s discovery of Kate Moss in the 80s.” (source: Telegraph Online ). There will be bespoke model photo booths in both the North and South Terminal of the airport for potential models to be photographed and entered into the event. Those thinking ahead before their journey to Gatwick airport can register online.
The event will allow the general public passing through London’s Gatwick airport the chance to experience the buzz and excitement that surrounds a fashion week, whilst picking up key trends on their way to the departure gate.
