Yoga has just got a little bit funky. A little bit colourful and a little bit bolder. Thanks to inspiration and a sense of adventure from Chad, the founder of Yoga Design Lab. The idea for the company started whilst he was on holiday in beautiful Bali, attending a yoga class.

Bored by the view of unoriginal, block colour mats, Chad wondered if there was a way of creating a beautiful yoga mat that was also highly functional. Ta-da! Along came Yoga Design Lab, with the aim to produce beautiful yoga products that also made people excited to be practicing yoga.

“So the journey began. Long story short, I sold my stuff, packed up a couple bags and moved to Bali with the goal of creating a line of yoga accessories that would inspire people around the world.” Chad of Yoga Design Lab

Yoga Design Lab sell across Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and the USA. The collection currently features yoga mats and yoga towels that are perfect for hot yoga but also any other yoga style. “Blending fashion-forward design elements with innovative functionality and bio-renewable consciousness is key to the Yoga Design Lab approach” The hot yoga mats are made of biodegradable natural tree rubber and water based inks used are used in the printed designs.

What I also love is that $1 from every purchase goes to support Urban Youth Yoga Programs in need. So you get to give something back as well as work out in style.

Anyone who has seen my fitness features will see that I am not one to shy away from colour in my workout kit. Black is relegated and bright pinks, blues and yellow usually features. So I loved using the hot yoga towel in my regular Monday night Kettle Bell workout.

It doubled up as a towel to pop up my perspiration (women perspire, they don’t sweat!) and I used it as mat to do my plank challenge plank set for the evening. Fabulous material, quick drying, stylish and bold. I love it!
