#weeklylust | The White Shirt
This week’s weekly lust item is a wardrobe staple. Yet I admit I don’t actually own a white shirt. It might be that they remind me too much of school days. But there are so many options available in stores that you’d be a fool not to have one in your fashion armoury.
Recently I have been wearing a lot of printed trousers. Boden’s bistro cropped trousers are a particularly favourite of mine (so much so I have them in two colourways). But it can be hard to decide what to team with them.
A white shirt is a go to item. You can dress up, you can dress down. They can be sleeveless, collared, lacy, cotton, textured or pleated. I’m not really one for ironing so I do need a shirt that doesn’t necessarily need to be treated to the heat. Plus I really have issue with the odd “side boob show” when it comes to button up shirts. So for me a sleek look is desirable.
My weekly lust piece is the the Lisa Lace Shirt from Monsoon. It is a fluid design of semi-sheer crepe with detailing of a lace lined yoke and cuffs. So there is texture and there is femininity rather than a starchy white shirt that. Perfect for me and I rather like the v shaped neckline to add some softness to my rather bright printed trousers.
So I’ll be teaming my weekly lust from Monsoon with my Boden Pewter Animal Floral and Mariner Blue Animal Floral bistro crop trousers and my slim cropped print pants from Gap.
