LadyM Presents is all about providing a platform to up and coming designers. In February LadyM was a judge on the panel of Alfa Romeo Young Designer Award 2012 in Edinburgh and the 2013 competition is now open.

Last years winner Janine Clark showcased her final year collection at The Pantiles Fashion Festival organised by the LadyM Presents team and she’s now working at Abercrombie and Fitch in the US, so this competition offers great prospects.

For the third year running The St. Andrews Charity Fashion Show is uniting with the legendary car brand Alfa Romeo to create a platform for UK-based new and emerging young designers. Online applications are now open and close on October 15th, so if you are a budding fashion design student make sure you enter this competition.

How the competition works

The process begins with completion of a short online application form, those successful will be notified by e-mail and must design a five piece collection, following a creative brief, to be presented in a short interview with our judging panel in London. Five finalists will then be chosen and have two months to create their five piece collections.

This is a great chance to complement studies that fashion or design students may be doing as well as great experience.

The team at St Andrews University and Alfa Romeo are on the same page as us, we are all passionate about finding and nurturing the best emerging fashion design talents, if you think that is you, then enter this amazing competition.

The recipient of the award will receive:

• £1,000 in prize money, courtesy of Alfa Romeo
• £500 fund to produce a charity T-shirt line
• An exclusive feature in the FS 2013 online magazine to an readership of over 6,000

In addition, all five finalists will benefit from:

• Their five-piece collection being shown to over 1,000 guests on the FS 2013 catwalk shows in St. Andrews and London
• Their headline pieces in a photo shoot published in the FS 2013 online magazine
• Contributions to the FS 2013 blog, which has readership of 15,000
• Quality 6-12 week work placements at fashion houses
