This week on BBC Radio Kent, LadyM is talking Autumn/Winter Accessories. After last week’s discussion on winter coats, you should be all wrapped up and ready for the season.
Autumn/Winter Accessories
Now, we look at accessories to keep you toasty this winter and the practical accessories that would make awesome stocking fillers.
Colour creations
Last week we took a trip to the vineyards as dark red hues are a key trend this season. But sometimes a winter coat in a vibrant colour isn’t what everyone is looking for. If you’re a bit of a wall flower; or prefer to have a black jacket or coat to go with any occasion or outfit– you can accessorise in bright colours to brighten up your winter look.
Back in the day you used to be able to get a “snood pullover”, Mrs LadyM informed the team when we talked about the topic of the week. A cowl neck pullover that can have the neck pulled over the head to create a hood and keep you snug. Well the snood’s of the 1990′s are back and we love the colour of this one from Topshop, and for a delicate colour pop these ladies leather gloves from John Lewis look very smart. For men, liven up a smart suit or your winter coat with this fabulously fun and colourful multicoloured striped scarf from Barbour. Very “on trend” this season are ear muffs. You might feel silly but there is nothing worse than earache caused by the cold. Pop a colour punch in some bright ear muffs; suitable for men or women. They don’t have to go over the head like the kids version, they can wrap around the back of the neck.

Cute Kids
We came across the fabulous Hand in Hand Gloves by the Gorgeous Company that are just so cute!
The gorgeous hand in hand gloves are hand knitted from 100% extra fine Merino wool in a light grey and cream, making them suitable for girls or boys. They are the perfect gift and serve as a solution to cold hands, lost gloves and the security of holding hands. No more slippery hands when you’re both wearing gloves. And no need to have mittens on string, for the children so they don’t lose them.
They are available at Notonthehighstreet.com for £36
Smart Gloves
So you’re outside, a bit lost, wearing your gloves because it’s cold. You need to get your smartphone out to try to find where you are; but you have to take your glove off to swipe the screen and use it…. not any more.
SmartTouch gloves are the answer. Normal gloves with a special mesh on the index fingers. So you can keep warm and in touch with everyone at the same time!
You can buy these all over the internet now but here is the pair we are hoping Santa puts in our Christmas stocking this year. Isotoner Smartouch Knot Detail Leather And Spandex Womens Gloves (£24.99). Stylish and practical – perfect!
