As the wind picks up, the rains come and the evenings get shorter, the fashion world moves on to the Autumn/Winter collections. Not really fans of having to wrap up warm and stay inside for the long season. We love to embrace the A/W accessories collections rather than buy winter woolies and furry boots. So when we heard that Sam Cross was launching her Autumn/Winter collection at Cloth Magpie we couldn’t wait to check it out.
Cloth Magpie – The Autumn/Winter 11 Collection
Launched in 2009 the Cloth Magpie label originated as a means of breathing new life into designer Sam Cross’ treasured collection of vintage textiles. Inspired by her love of retro style vanity cases and the glamour of a bygone era she transformed the fabrics into a striking range of limited edition structured retro style handbags.
Spring/Summer 2011 saw the successful introduction of Sam’s own prints designs. Taking inspiration from favoured vintage textiles the new prints are contemporary with a retro style that is synonymous with the Cloth Magpie brand.

Conker Print
Their new Autumnal themed Conker Print is available in 3 striking background colours that compliment the beautiful chestnut browns of the conkers.
Conker Green is bright and a reference to nature the light green colour of the background is inspired by the exterior shell of the horse chestnut in early autumn. Conker Brown uses a soft fawn colour to surround the rich warm tones of the conkers resulting in an easy to wear print that has a fun but classic feel. Whilst Conker Orange is a personal favourite and perfect for this season. The deep orange of the background is balanced by shades of conker brown. This print cannot fail to lift any outfit.
