Eyebrow Grooming Tips – A guest blog

A guest blog from makeup artist Viktoria Kohl.

Eyebrows frame your face so it is very important to have them right according to the shape of your face.

You can find out what is the right shape for you using my guide:

Get a pencil or a makeup brush and put it close to your face so it makes a line between your nostril and the tear duct (the inside corner) of the eye on the same side of your face. Then make a line with the same tool between your nostril and the outside corner of your eye – and that is where your eyebrow should end. Any hair outside those lines should be plucked away.

To find the peak of your brow make a line between your nostril and your pupil. Make a note of all the points mentioned with a white pencil or even draw the lines you want your brow to follow. Take away the solitary hairs underneath and follow the shape of the eye. Make sure that you don’t pluck the arch too high as it could make you look like you are surprised all the time.

Once it is done you only need to maintain the look. That can be done in 2-4 minutes a day.

There are some hairs that grow longer than others, comb these upwards and cut them to fit the shape.

If you get a bit OTT with plucking don’t worry. Eyebrows grow back over time so for the time being use an eyebrow pencil or powder and fill in the gaps.

Lastly the colour of your eyebrow should match the colour of your hair on a bit lighter. So find the right coloured pencil or powder to fill in the gaps between hairs and voila – you have your perfect brow ready.

What are you waiting for? It’s easier than you think!

Though if you don’t feel confident in creating the ideal shape you can always find a brow bar or beautician to do it for you.
