Guest Blog: A flawless look for your makeover photo shoot

Confession time – I love makeup. I’m a product addict, can’t leave the house without my lippie and have so many points on my SpaceNK card I don’t know what to do with them. My hunt for the perfect red lipstick has been going on for a good few years now and even though I’ve yet to perfect the ultimate smoky eye, I’ve given it a really good try.

Makeover photo shoots

When ladies come to me for a makeover photo shoot, one of the first things I tell them is how important it is to get the makeup right. A good foundation base will make your face glow – I love Laura Mercier’s primer for smoothing skin tone and creating a flawless effect which just looks fantastic on camera. Maybe that’s why I spend so much time in SpaceNK?

If you’re not used to wearing makeup, a full-on face might seem a bit too much for your professional photo shoot. That’s why I always bring a makeup artist to my shoots – they’re fantastic at creating a natural look that brings out your best features. By using complementary colours that suit your skin tone, a makeup artist will ensure you look fabulous while still being you.

Makeup for a professional photo shoot

Before a makeover shoot, I always suggest a visit to the beauty counter at a department store or an appointment with a makeup artist – if you’re in Tunbridge Wells I’d highly recommend Lorraine Kelly. I never need any encouragement to treat myself to a spot of pampering and always have a great time.

In fact; I’m booked in next week for a quick makeover at the Chanel counter – so if you’re in Fenwicks and you see someone cooing over the latest spring eye colour, it’s probably me!
