Guest Blog: Workout Wear – Workout your PPW

So, how’s that New Year’s resolution going? You remember; the one that involves going to the gym more than you reach for the TV remote?

Thought so. There is a fool proof way of getting moving, either to the gym or just off you backside in general. And that my friend’s is “PPW”. No, it’s not a fancy new workout method or anything to do with your BMI, but “Price Per Wear”. The thing that makes you buy those gorgeous new shoes, well it works for making the rest of you look good too.

Workout Wear – Workout your PPW

Here’s how it works. You buy the most expensive workout gear you can afford that makes you look halfway decent in the changing room mirror. There are lots of sneaky mirrors at the gym, or even running around your neighbourhood. Car windows, house windows, shop windows – all very reflective. If you know you look good not sweating, you won’t mind so much when you do. The first exercise you’re going to do involves your brain. Work out (pun, sorry) how much everything costs. Yes, the trainers too. Now, if each trip to the gym equals £1, how many gym visits will it take to break even? That’s your target.

To make life even easier for you there is some pretty nice gym gear to choose from. Gone are the days of grubby white T-shirts and yucky Lycra in sweetie wrapper colours; now you can get fit and look fit at the same time.

Stella McCartney for Adidas

Stella McCartney for Adidas showcase garments that wouldn’t look out of place on the runway and if you really want to work the PPI, here is the place to start! Plus as the designer for the GB Olympic team, you can get in on the action with her Team GB gear too.

Reebok – EasyTone

Reebok have got in on the action too with EasyTone trainers and joggers, that tone your thighs just by wearing them. Imagine what they could do for you if you actually move around in them!

The trainers look sleek and no longer gleam bright white the first time you put them on and the joggers are a flattering cut that hold you in as you elegantly sprint on the treadmill or salsa around a Zumba class.

Your permission to shop has been granted and calculators at the ready to work out your PPI. Now all you need to do is hit the gym.
