Well the end of the decade is nearly upon us, so I thought I’d sit down with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and have some time to reflect on my highlights of 2009 and of all the fun things to come in 2010.
Reflection on 2009
For me I really have made 2009 a turn-around year. I have settled down into my job as a fresh fruit importer and I’m working on a developing my role and my department. I’ve been to some amazing countries and met some amazing people. I have relocated to a fabulous apartment with a flatmate who doesn’t get drunk every night, sing karaoke at 4am and steal my cheese! And I have really developed my contacts in the world of fashion and culture and had some amazing experiences.
Highlights of 2009
- Travelling to Beijing, Tokyo, Berlin, Boussac France, Egypt, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Guatemala, Mexico
- Meeting Sir Roger Moore at the Cubby Brocolli Centenary opening of Bond films at BFI London (I’m a Massive James Bond Fan)
- Raising over £1000 for Cancer Research with 10km of running in Race for Life across the country
- Attending London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House in September
- Coming 10th in Windsor 8km race and chopping 4 minutes off my expected time
- Being Bridesmaid and Witness at the lovely wedding of Mr & Mrs Bennett – simply a lovely day for a fabulous couple
What’s to come in 2010
- Breakfast at Tiffany’s the play – with the girlies in January
- London Fashion Weekend in February
- Tunbridge Wells Fashion Week 24-26th February – I’ll be front row and blogging
- Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon 28th February – my first and maybe my last but weirdly I’m looking forward to it
- Driving an Aston Martin around Brands Hatch for my birthday in June (I can’t tell you how excited I am about this it is indescribable!)
- Ticking off more of my list of 30 things to do before I’m 30 (2 years to go!)
- Going to New Zealand to see my brother and his wife
The Look-Out List for 2010:
Kate Sheridan – designer of fabulous bags and necklaces – I first met her at London Fashion Weekend – some gorgeous pieces.
Heidi Sturgess – designer and creative director of Heidi Sturgess, some amazing corsages, jewllery and scarves.
Crumbs and Doilies – everyone loves cupcakes and they make some scrummy ones – this is a great new food trend in London.
Keep Cup – keeping our coffee hot and our planet happy – a great invention for re-useable coffee cups – go get them at http://www.keepcup.com/
Wishing all my readers, followers, tweeters a fabulous and stylish 2010 – Let’s make this year a great year – our year!

I had no idea that Tunbridge Wells did a Fashion Week.
I might turn up and blog about it myself.
Happy festive season.

A great post. One piece of advice for TW Half Marathon… train on hills! Presuming course is still same as, ahem, 20 years ago, Speldhurst Hill towards the end of the race is a killer. But if you do a lot of training on hills you can breeze past people as they falter. Good luck!
Thanks guys for your comments
Technolust – i think the fashion week is new this year
paul – yep same course, same hill that i'm dreading – thanks for your advice
