How to look fabulous this summer, with laser treatments – A Guest Blog

Want to look great this summer? Then why not check out the latest laser treatments. They’re available at reputable clinics and will help you dazzle throughout the warmer months.

Laser hair removal

Let’s face it; dealing with unwanted body hair is a hassle. Shaving’s tedious, waxing’s painful and plucking can leave your skin sore. Even threading and epilation has to be done repeatedly – so what’s the solution? Well, laser hair removal is a non-surgical procedure that’s been show to permanently remove hair. It uses pulses of light to damage each follicle and can dramatically improve your appearance. The treatment’s relatively pain free and can be done in minutes (depending on the area targeted), making it the perfect lunchtime treatment. While costs vary, packages can be bought helping to bring the price of each session down.

If you do decide to give laser hair removal a go, however, there are a few things to consider. Firstly, it works best on dark hair and light skin, so it’s wise to arrange a consultation and a test patch – to see if you’re eligible for treatment. Secondly, because each treatment only kills follicles in the active growth stage of the hair cycles, a course of laser is recommended. This will ensure all hairs are targeted and should leave you with a super soft complexion. It’ll take a while to complete, but you should find fewer hairs grow back each time – what could be better?

IPL laser

IPL laser is a quick and convenient skin rejuvenation treatment that can help cure ailments such as: acne, rosacea, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, broken capillaries, age spots, blemishes, birth marks and port wine stains. It can be used alongside other procedures such as microdermabrasion and skin peels and is available at many clinics throughout the UK.

The treatment works through a process called photorejuvenation and is designed to improve the skin’s tone and texture. Clever IPL laser technology generates bursts of red or blue light onto the skin and this penetrates the tissue. The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue leaving the skin looking younger and fresher.

Dramatic results can usually be seen within a relatively short period of time, although a course of treatments is usually recommended by experienced practitioners. Over numerous sessions, IPL laser can hydrate and lift the skin and can even out pigmentation – making it suitable for most skin types.
