Pack Smart and Look Amazing This Summer Holiday

Many people are of the mindset that the simpler you keep your holiday wardrobe, the easier the packing process will be. After all, you’re on holiday, who cares what you look like?

Then there is the school of thought that believes packing ten tee shirts, a few pairs of shorts and a bikini and hoping for the best just won’t do. For those who see their holiday as the perfect opportunity to flaunt their fashion sense or perhaps those who are simply looking to climb the style ladder, take a look at these top tips on what to take on this year’s summer break while staying within the luggage limit.

Keep it minimal

Instead of packing a selection of your favourite outfits, opt for a few essential items, such as an on-trend maxi dress that can be worn casually during the day or dressed up for the evening. To be even more packing savvy, choose a colour scheme for your holiday wardrobe. This will allow you to pair items with each other without fear of clashes. When it comes to footwear, wear your heaviest pair whilst travelling, as well as a pair of stylish yet comfortable sandals for sightseeing and some glam heels for evenings out.

Don’t break the bank

According to a study, 28% of us spend over £100 on new clothes in preparation for a holiday and, whilst it can’t be denied that your vacation wardrobe needs updating from time to time, there are really only a handful of items that you should update while the rest of your look can be created from your current clothes selection. For example, invest in one or two good quality bikinis or swimsuits to form the basis of your beachwear, looking out for pieces that are in line with the latest trends and opt for a cossie that brings out the best in your body.

Hot holiday hair

Leave the hair styling appliances at home and adopt this season’s hottest hairstyle. The epitome of laidback glamour yet oozing cool, the scruffy top-knot is this summer’s must-have hairstyle, and it’s so easy to recreate. Simply pull the hair into a bun on the top of your head and allow a few loose tendrils to frame the face. Not only will it take minutes to style, leaving you with more tanning time, but you’ll save money on hair care products and the extra space can be used on other essential items.

  1. Great tips, I like the emphasis on just updating a few pieces rather than attempting a holiday wardrobe overhaul (while fun, too expensive!). I wish I were going on holiday sometime soon. :)
