Jeremy Hoye – Contemporary Jewellery Designer

A few weeks ago I was invited to visit the new jewellery store of contemporary jewellery designer Jeremy Hoye. Jeremy is well known for his bespoke pieces, contemporary design and his fabulous store and workshop in Brighton. But now we can enjoy his work and gaze at his marvellous pieces in Tunbridge Wells at 74 High Street, in the heart of the old town and what is rapidly becoming our very own jewellery quarter.

Jeremy Hoye specialises in unique and beautiful modern, contemporary rings, earrings, necklaces and jewellery ranges. The launch in Tunbridge Wells comes after a big expansion plan was created following a new investor coming onboard. This could be the start of the next group of Jeremy Hoye stores – the vibrant and wealthy town of Royal Tunbridge Wells felt like a natural step and great progression for the brand, with their base in eclectic Brighton.

There are new collections launched throughout the year, Spring saw the launch of the Carmen collection and Jeremy maintains the limited edition pieces as well as bespoke creations for his clients.

Charm bracelets are in demand at the moment; we see them across the high street. Jeremy has designed something different to go alongside this huge trend – with an alternative, quirky take on the charm bracelet. Think shrunken heads and guns, not at all twee!  My favourite is a miniature Brighton Pavilion and the deckchair and seagull are rather nice links back to Jeremy Hoye’s Brighton roots.

In fact Jeremy tends to ignore trends and focuses on what influences him in his life. He does things he likes to do and thats what drew me to his work. There is the precious collection and bespoke pieces that will set you back a few pennies. But there are also gold plated and silver plated versions of his best sellers which are more accessible and financially viable for everyone.

I love this ring... but it's the most expensive in the collection at £13,500!

I love the Kings & Queens collection – there is something enchanting and special about all the pieces but not in a modern day way. It reminds me of King Henry VIII in the Tudors, glamour in a dark way rather than the princess bling of these days.

Jeremy has worked with many high street and corporate names including Diesel, Virgin Airlines, Jaeger, and Porsche. His latest celebrity clients include Holly Willoughby, Fearne Cotton, Edith Bowman and Gok Wan. I think they are on to a good thing. Unique jewellery, going against the grain but working in fabulously well thought out collections.
