Phew! We survived London Fashion Week and this week sees the last catwalks of Fashion Month as Paris Fashion Week starts on 1st March.

London Fashion Week A/W12 Review with LG

London Fashion Week is an amazing experience. London is often hailed as the most creative fashion capital in Fashion Month and the buzz that surrounds the shows, the exhibitions and the events is fantastic.

The LG Steam Team

The LG Steam Team are the fab people who work behind the scenes, making sure that the designer collections hitting the catwalk look perfect. Using LG’s technology know-how and Celebrity Fashion Stylist Sara Hassan’s styling – the collections are shown to Fashion Editors at large, fashionistas and celebrities in the best possible way.

A/W 12 Fashion Trends

We had a great time at London Fashion Week. Show highlights for us being Antoni and Alison, PPQ, Corrie Nielsen and Issa London. There really felt a sense of focus on comfort, styling and journeys in the collections we saw. There were stories behind collections, heritage shining through but a futuristic notion at the same time.

Key trends this season are about texture and tone, Fashion156.com noted the colour palette as “intense forest tones – rust, moss green, berry red, earth brown – merged with petrol blue, darkened turquoise and navy”. We saw a lot of cashmere and wool mixing with tartans in reds, blacks and blues – giving depth and texture to the collections.

Digital prints will be massive for Autumn/Winter 12. Based on silk and chiffon, Antoni and Alison brought us an outfit in one dress, with the use of digital prints whilst the Queen of Print, Mary Katrantzou still reigns with an amazing collection of vibrant prints and colours.

Keep warm in A/W with the oversized coat. DAKS brought us sumptuous felt oversized coats whilst Jasper Conran mixed cashmere jackets and oversized separates.

There is still the sense of the 1950′s Americana smart woman, with structured tailoring at Jean Pierre Braganza, with gorgeous Bracher Emden clutch bags, whilst Clements Ribeiro gave dressy without floaty. Marios Schwab models graced the catwalk with elbow length evening gloves, on the knee dresses and feminine silhouettes. Chiffon, mixing with lace inserts and a touch of sparkle for evening glamour.

Not ones to normally covet Autumn/Winter clothes, there were some amazing pieces in the collections at London Fashion Week. We might be swayed by Autumn/Winter 2012 to take the tartan trend and wear it well and wrap up warm in some amazing cashmere oversized coats!
