Now that the LadyM Presents team has the fabulous Amelia as Beauty Editor, it’s not often that I get the chance to try the beauty products that land on our Beauty desk. Usually its London Fashion Week goodie bags for me and the occasional neck massage at events but this week a special beauty treat landed in my shiny pink In-tray.

Maybelline’s Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara

Beauty and make up company Maybelline New York has grown up from a small, family owned business to be the number one cosmetics company in the United States. The advertising tag line “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline”, suggests magical powers in their products that enhance and promote natural beauty. So when a bright yellow, chunky mascara arrived this week, I couldn’t wait to try it. The Colossal Cat Eyes mascara, with a curved mascara applicator enhanced to give full and flared outer corner lashes.

Now i’m not one to be a one brand girl, I like to mix and match my makeup but when it comes to mascara, I know what I like. My normal requirements are black, waterproof and non clumpy, as are many women’s I’m sure. But as a new convert to false eyelashes for a night out. I was keen to try Maybelline’s Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara to see if it could turn me back to mascara for good. Before I let you know how I got on, Maybelline has teamed up with the girls at Masquerade Makeup to give tutorials on creating a sexy feline look. We’d like to present to you the Leopard Look

Maybelline’s Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara is part of the Volum’ Express range of products aiming at giving wide-eyed volume. Apparently a Collagen enriched formula gives the Colossal feline volume and no clumps. So I tried it out for the Rock around my Frock event in Tunbridge Wells this weekend, in aid of the Pickering Cancer Centre. The product was easy to apply and indeed not too clumpy.  It does take a while to get used to the movement you should use with the curved wand but once mastered it is easy to apply.  I did get a lot of compliments about my makeup that night and I felt like my lashes were elongated but light.  As a new convert to the falsies I was impressed with the volume it game me with the rounded brush for plumping out the corner lashes. I didn’t exactly purr with feline delight but it did give me confidence that I was looking great.
