Last year when we put out the feelers on Twitter for some fabulous brands, companies and ideas to be included in our “New Year, New You” season we received a huge number of responses. One such response was from British accessories designer, Jenny Purchase. Once we’d checked our her website, we were hooked!

Jenny Purchase – Accessories Designer

One thing that we love about the fashion industry is the common theme that occurs when naming pieces in collections. It’s become a little bit of a fun game for us here at LadyM Towers. Spotting those pieces with the same name as your own! So when we saw that Jenny Purchase had done the name game with her accessories collection we couldn’t wait to check out the whole collection.

Jenny is one talented designer; having graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in Multimedia Textiles, she has now set up her own label. She had the amazing experience of working for Tatty Devine, Philip Treacy and Holly Fulton during her placement year and it was working with Holly Fulton, that made Jenny realise her passion for the industry.

We also love that Jenny is a little like LadyM; a full time job by day; fashion by night. Jenny is still working for Tatty Devine making laser cut necklaces but has the weekends and monday’s to work on her fabulous bag range.

“I love designing my own bags and being able to see my designs being worn and enjoyed by others. I also enjoy the mix of creativity and business, seeing it through from concept, to creation to costings. It’s also great to work for other fashion designers to see their creative process”.

The Collection

Jenny Purchase clutch bags are the perfect way to brighten up your look this season. Jenny’s latest collection is based upon designs she found on the floors around her home city of London – which led to some fabulous studding on the bags. Jenny finds London a truly inspiring city.

Using bold, brilliant colours and amazing detail several of the clutches come in a limited number and are 12 inches wide by 9 inches tall. Here are some of our favourite designs.

2013 looks set to be a promising year for Jenny Purchase. She is involved with a group of other designers called Midlands Designer Pop Up Boutique and her aim is to get three new stockists in high profile shops. So if you are a fashion buyer.
