New Year, New You – Mii Cosmetics, a new makeup brand

Our “New Year, New You” season is all about finding out fabulous new fashion pieces, beauty products to revitalise our regimes and fun activities to enhance our lives.

Mii Cosmetics – new makeup brand

We recently came across a new range of makeup that we think will really make waves in the makeup world. Mii cosmetics is a UK brand from Gerrard International; the company behind the Jessica nail colours. Beauty Therapist Jennifer Letham works with the products and couldn’t wait to tell us all about them. Well we might have managed to sweet talk her into a makeover with the range, just to test it out for you, dear readers!

Mii cosmetics concept about beauty, is that beauty “is often simply, to have the confidence to be yourself”. Mii cosmetics have produced a range that gives “confidence to create a look that is uniquely, completely, unmistakeably you”. It’s based on similar principles to Mac Cosmetics (a brand which we love) so LadyM was teared away from her trusty golden eyeshadows, Mac bases and Revlon primers and treated to a makeover by Jennifer of Repose Beauty.

First the flawless base. After a sweep of Benefit’s That Girl Primer, the Mii Flawless Face Base in Perfectly Fresh (£19.95) was applied. It gives great coverage, is long-lasting and felt super light. It also has an SPF Factor 10, which everyone should consider in a foundation. This really was a great base, we’re not a fan of orangey, heavy foundations so this felt fabulous.  This was completed with a mineral Perfecting Pressed Powder (£23.50) that is good for the skin, removes shine and balances out skin tone. Mineral based makeup is becoming very popular.

For the eyes, Jennifer used two shadows; Spellbound and Rapture (£15.50) to give a great colour base. The ultra-light mineralized powder with nourishing seaweed extract feels creamy to the touch and delivers superior colour that lasts and lasts. Subtle when the eyes are open but strong enough to make an impression.

Embracing purples to make the eyes pop and using Daniel Sadler long lasting eyeliner in brown velvet. To add a touch of shimmer to the upper lids, that catches the light perfectly, Jennifer used a shimmer cream from Avon Cosmetics. Now one mascara we know and love is Benefit’s Bad Gal waterproof Mascara, that finished off the look perfectly.

EYES

Add a touch of Rimmel Autumn Catwalk blusher to highlight the cheekbones (something we should do more of!). Then for the lips; Avon Show Some Skin lipstick finished off with a Mii Shimmering Lip Sheen in Flow (£14.95). Holographic particles give a 3D effect that make your lips appear fuller, whilst the active ingredients help to keep lips moisturised, nourished and soft.

Et Voila, a perfectly put together natural party look; wow those eyes are amazing!
