Stuff & Good Sense – Tunbridge Wells, Press Night

We love a good girly night out here at LadyM Presents. Often an evening involving a glass of champagne will win us over and of course fabulous company. So when we had an invite to the Stuff & Good Sense press night last week, we made sure it was in the fashion diary and we couldn’t wait.

Stuff & Good Sense is an fabulous retro and vintage shop based at 29 The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells. It opened four months ago and to celebrate its success so far, they had a vintage inspired evening at the shop. We walked in and were immediately greeted by Gaynor Edwards, co-owner of Stuff & Good Sense and Carole Riggs, owner of Gently Worn Vintage who have a concession at the shop, swiftly passed a glass of pink bubbles and soaked up the atmosphere. Vintage Fashion concession Gently Worn Vintage have a range of high-end couture gowns, and Carole is planning on hosting a series of vintage fashion and styling events instore.

Stuff & Good Sense focuses on nostalgic taste and eco values. Canapés were provided by the lovely Claire of The Bijou Bakery and had a decidedly retro feel and it was great to hear how local business women are developing their businesses in the county. After a few nibbles from Claire, we had to go for the sweet tooth option, gorgeous cupcakes, vintage inspired and amazing floral designs from Vintage Rose Cupcakes. They were a breath of fresh air from the mighty chunks of butter icing you get on the top of cupcakes now. The perfect amount of beautiful, sculptured icing in vintage designs. Owner and self taught cupcake queen Alex knows her stuff and wowed us with her yummy cupcakes.

It was a lovely evening of mingling with local business women, press ladies and fabulous female members of the Tunbridge Wells Twitterati. There were some amazing vintage outfits on show and Caroline Ort of Powder & Glow was on hand to touch up lipstick, eye shadows and give make up tips as we mingled with a glass of bubbly.

Stuff & Good Sense is a great vintage shop with design classics, locally sourced arts and their own skincare range that we love. It’s well worth at trip to the lovely Pantiles area of Tunbridge Wells just to see what great products are available instore. From fashion, to interiors, skin care to design. It’s all under one roof.
