Sunday Times Style Events November 2012
This week we spotted two fabulous fashion events that we just had to tell you about. Sadly we won’t be attending either; our diaries are always full! But we hope that you might be able to hot foot it down there for fashion advice and a few bargains pre Christmas!
The Big Style Fashion Sale
On Saturday November 24th, The Big Style Fashion Sale is coming to Somerset House, London in aid of Dress for Success. Dress for Success is a charity that helps women on low incomes get back to work. When a woman comes to Dress for Success London, trained stylists will dress her in a smart professional outfit to wear to her job interview. We love this charity and so do the Style team.
Somerset House, the home of London Fashion Week will host the event with fashion sales including top labels such as Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.
There will be stalls from My-wardrobe.com, Topshop and Astley Clarke as well as the Style team being on hand to give style tips and advice. They will be hosting their own fashion and beauty rooms with samples and catwalk pieces at 70% off plus a raffle with an amazing Freda coat worth £1,600. It sounds like a fabulous days shopping and there are free makeovers from Bobbi Brown too.
The first session will be 10am-1pm and the second session 3pm-6pm. Tickets cost £15 and are available at See Tickets or by calling 0844 412 2962
An Evening with Lacoste
On Tuesday 27th November (the night of the British Fashion Awards), the Style team and Lacoste are holding a special event at the Lacoste Flagship store on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London. Style fashion editors Laura Weir and Michael Hennegan will be on hand to talk through their favourite pieces in the collection and give out some styling advice whilst you browse the rails and find some fabulous outfits.
As with any fashion event there will be drinks and canapés, The Illustrated Nail company will be there to offer manicures and Nicky Clarke’s Senior Advanced Director, Lee Radley will be styling hair. Men, have no fear, your treats are a basement den of X-Box and Nandos to keep you happy whilst Sketch’s resident DJ Alison King places some tunes to keep the party buzzing.
