How to wear white this season + a dash of colour

The days are longer, the sun’s showing its face for a change and quite frankly its hot! The heady days of summer are almost with us and our wardrobes need freshening up.

White Magic  - The White Trend

This season might all be about prints, colour blocking and 70′s glamour. But take it back to the bare bones because this summer white is the new colour, seen on the runway of Narciso Rodriguez, Céline, Dries Van Noten to name but a few, and we want to show you how to wear it.

Little White Dress

Summer is all about the LWD – Little White Dress, wear with platform wedges in a sumptuous gold or heavenly bronze and accessorise with chunky wooden jewellery. Or go ultra girly with a flirty heel in a pastel or vibrant pink.

  • Linen Blend Shift Dress from Next £30

Top to Tail

Structured silhouettes in a crisp, pure white cut a fine look this season, take tailoring to the next level.  Michael Kors and Stella McCartney lead by example on the S/S runway offering a modern solution to summer dressing. As Elle’s Fashion Director Marie Curtis explains these looks speak volumes, they say “I’m smart and grown-up and have impeccable taste, but I’m sexy, too”. (Elle, May 2011) Accessorise with brown leather or golds such as a skinny belt or satchel bag. Heels elongate the leg, keep them neutral so as not to break the silhouette too much.
