We’ve joined forces with up and coming designer fashion label ÀSÀKÉOGÉ to give you the opportunity to win an animal print dress from their yet to be released Autumn 2012 collection. That means the winner will get the wear a dress from the collection before it goes mainstream.

ÀSÀKÉOGÉ – The Fashion Label

ÀSÀKÉOGÉ pronounced “a-sha-ke-o-ge”, is the fashion label taking the name from founder, Oluyomi Asake Agor ‘Asake’ and ‘Oge’ which means Fashion in her native Yoruba language. This up and coming London based fashion brand was founded by Asake in March 2009, when the designer originally from Nigeria was invited to form a collection for the London Metropolitan Fashion and Dance Charity Show.

Officially launched with the “Afrolosophy” collection in spring 2010, ÀSÀKÉOGÉ’s vision is all about designing and producing garments that women of all shapes and sizes would love to wear. The label specialises in custom-made womenswear with a passion for bold colours and prints borne from Asake’s roots and guided by a strong British tailoring influence.

ÀSÀKÉOGÉ designs and produces limited edition ready to wear and one-off garments for the fashion forward woman. What we love about the label is that each garment is tailored with attention to detail and emphasis on the feminine silhouette.

Asake says, “My passion for individuality is apparent in every work I create, for me the wow-factor is non negotiable in my hand made garments. I love to enter a room and make heads turn.”

Spring 2012 – Timeless Heritage

For Spring 2012, ÀSÀKÉOGÉ’s collection is titled “Timeless Heritage”. Asake explains that the collection is a “tribute to the matriarchs in my family, my grandmother passed on a fashion legacy to my mother and her sisters and this was passed on to me. Each dress has been named after these seven women”. The colours in this collection are just fabulous. Asake drew on nature for inspiration and a tropical colour palette of red, for the sunset, flowers and passion; yellow for the sun and blue for the sky and the sea.

The timelessness comes from the use of luxurious French Silk, French Cotton and Silk Jersey made into garments with classic silhouettes that will stand the test of time.
