For over a month now, I’ve been road-testing a very exciting new gadget on the beauty market: Wrinkle MD. A great alternative to injectables, the system actually infuses hylauronic acid into the skin, pushing it deeper into the skin for a much better effect than ordinary skin creams. Read on to find out how I got on with it, and for an exciting giveaway!
Wrinkle MD Review and Giveaway
I’ll admit being a little apprehensive when the box containing Wrinkle MD turned up. The idea of attaching something containing hylauronic acid to my face sounded a bit scary, but on the other hand, I’m always interested to try new beauty innovations, and the idea behind Wrinkle MD captivated me. Essentially, the idea behind Wrinkle MD is that you attach a little ‘headset’ type device to two gel-like patches, which you then place at the sides of each eye. The system then works for 40 minutes to push the hylauronic acid into the skin, in a way that is much deeper and more effective than topical skin creams, and without giving you the frozen faced look of Botox.
I’m 24, and while wrinkles aren’t a main concern of mine at the moment, I’ve started to think about preventative measures, and also what kind of products I’d like to use once fine lines do begin to appear. The market is over-saturated with anti-aging products, so I was intrigued to try something a little different. I tested the kit for over a month, not just round my eyes, but I also sneakily used it on the two bracket-like creases I have at the sides of my mouth, and the fine lines that have started to appear on my forehead (what can I say?! I have an over-expressive face!!) I also gave it to my mum to try, to get another opinion. We used the kit twice a week for the first two weeks, then once a week afterwards.
The kit is actually extremely easy to use, and is more or less like having a tiny iPod around your neck. I felt a few tingles initially, which was enjoyable as it felt like something was actually working! I kept the kit on for 40 minutes, at the end of which the plastic pod around my neck started to flash red to let me know it was time to finish. The whole thing was hugely user-friendly and very easy to use. After the first use, my skin looked a little plumper and felt extremely smooth. The crease at the right side of my mouth disappeared completely, and the lines on my head softened – this was after 40 minutes in each area, not overall. After a few more uses, my skin was noticeably much fresher, and the fine lines I did have completely faded. It’s over a month since I finished the treatment, and my forehead still looks very smooth.
Likewise, my mum found that the skin around her eyes was noticeably smoother; a real problem area for her usually. She was delighted with the results after a couple of weeks, as she found that the lines really started to fade, and her skin looked much younger. We were both hugely impressed with Wrinkle MD, both in its ease of use, and with the results. I’d love to see the company come out with a patch that specifically targeted the forehead in future, and I’ll definitely be keeping my (non-wrinkled) eyes out for what they do next. What I liked most about this product was the fact that it gave fantastic effects without being invasive. Having injectables is a huge step, so this is a brilliant step to take if you want smoother, younger skin without needles. You can avoid a frozen brow and instead look like yourself, but with fewer wrinkles!
