Sponsored Video: M&S The Art of the Silhouette

A few months ago I was asked about my style milestones and how my style has changed since getting engaged. It was all part of the M&S Style Evolution campaign. I spent the day at the Marble Arch M&S store and got to browse their vast collections. Whilst we were there, we were in the press room and I got a sneak peak at some of the AW15 collection.

M&S The Art of the Silhouette

There are some fabulous pieces and M&S is all about “The Art of” this season. My focus today, is the Art of the Silhouette, some of M&S’s iconic shapes for Autumn are revealed in the video below.

The aim of the campaign is to focus on the quality and style that M&S is known for, across all categories. Autumn/Winter 2015 at M&S is about pared back styling and subtle feminine confidence. Simple silhouettes and contemporary shapes, combined with the use of luxurious fabrics and focusing on the intricacies of design.

Throughout the series of videos in the campaign there are gorgeous close-up shots of textiles being woven and sacks of cotton with ‘ethically sourced’ stamped on them, it’s all about the origins of products.

Elegant composition features this season, well it always does with M&S. The brand “continues on a confident trend direction whilst still embracing the luxury of style and the quality of design”, the M&S Design Team. There are unstructured coats in soft, neutral colours, the epitome of luxury. There are beautiful prints, giving texture and definition. It’s like a dream world of softness with an edge of fierceness, let the materials surround you and the colours bring you confidence.

Whenever I think of M&S I think of tactile knitwear, the ease of building layers and this season they are positioned well alongside suede and boho chic printed silks.

Rich berries are a strong colourway this season, leaning on a backdrop of heritage browns and earthy greys. I’m not really an Autumn/Winter kind of girl, but I’ll hand it to M&S, they have me with this collection, especially with a little sapphire blue popping in here and there.

You can see all The Art Of series on M&S Youtube Channel, plus there’s a little bit of David Gandy on there to whet your whistle!

Let me know what key trends you are loving this season and which pieces from M&S you have your eye on.
