The Austin Reed – White Shirt Challenge
A few weeks ago I received a mission by email. Very intriguing for a James Bond fan but also it was a fashion mission – even better. “Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to use an Austin Reed white shirt to showcase your personal style. Simply use the white shirt as your starting point, every other element is down to you”.
White Shirt Challenge
So my mission was to reinvent the ultimate wardrobe staple in the Austin Reed White Shirt Challenge.
The shirt of choice is the White Pique Shirt from the Monochrome Edit at Austin Reed. Perfectly tailored for a feminine silhouette. Soft to the touch, not see-through which can often be a problem with a white shirt, and a nice fit, not too long in the body, not too high a collar. Very beautiful in a simple tailored way.
But I’m not one to wear simple pieces. So I took the white pique shirt, teamed it with Boden Zip Ankle Skimmers in Pine and Reiss Denim heels (not seen in the pictures). To style this piece a little differently, I undid the cuffs, turned them out, accessorised with a Stella & Dot bracelet and finished off with a REW Clothing London Drape Scarf. All a little different for a day in the office, but what a way to style up a white shirt. What do you think?
