Here at LadyM Presents, we love to tell a story.  Founder Rachel helps small brands tell their story through the power of social media and our LadyM Meets interview series is a platform for fabulous female entrepreneurs to get their story our there.  So when we learnt that each of Daisy London’s collections carry a story inspired by the things the design team love and cherish, we just had to share it with you.

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

Simply inspired by the ‘joys of nature’ that come with the warmer season, the new nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery embodies the carefree essence of the brand’s core ‘Daisy’ collection, whilst intertwining symbols of birds, bees and leaves to bring to life their bestselling range.  Perfect for a step into summer and a time to refresh your accessories line up!

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

This collection also marks an exciting design-related first, incorporating the brand’s first ever bangle style bracelets and we also continue to see the mixing of metals – a notable trend for Spring/Summer 2016. So perfect for new additions to your jewellery collection.

Daisy London Jewellery is an exciting up and coming jewellery brand based based in London but available worldwide.  Founded by Noel Boyd and now run by his son James, Daisy London is a fabulously exotic jewellery brand, taking inspiration from travel and a sense of adventure.  The brand is known for their now iconic Chakra bracelet as well as further core ranges.  Earlier in the year the Laura Whitmore X Daisy Collection was featured right here at LadyM Presents.  It had a huge following on social media and was a great success.

Daisy London Jewellery launches new collection – Nature’s Way

Each piece in the Nature’s way collection is hand crafted with care using only 925 sterling silver and 18t gold and rose gold plate; ensuring the jewellery stands to last.

The collection includes Mulberry leaf stuff earrings, vines, bees and birds, a great reflection of the British summertime, out in the countryside getting back to nature.

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

I don’t have my ears pierced but I always fall in love with bird stud earrings, there’s something a little bit magical and uplifting about having a bird featuring somewhere in your outfit.

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

I find the Vine Leaf Rings just stunning.  In sterling silver or gold plate, they are subtle yet sophisticated, a simple touch to add to your jewellery selection but also at a great price.

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

OK back to the birds, I just adore the swooping bird bracelet, there is something really captivating and fresh for summer with this design.

New nature inspired collection from Daisy London Jewellery

I’ve been looking for a necklace to wear on my honeymoon for a while, something simple yet stunning to wear with a selection of summer dresses.  I think the Mulberry large leaf necklace in sterling silver is the one.  It makes a statement without taking away anything from the rest of your outfit.  I love it’s simplicity.

“Enjoy walking with nature wherever the wind takes you and discover a new side of Daisy. This new collection embodies the carefree essence of our core Daisy collection, whilst intertwining symbols of birds, bees and leaves to bring to life our bestselling range”

British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has been showcasing her collections since the 1980’s. With an eccentric dress sense, avant-garde design style and as a much reviewed pioneer of punk entering the fashion world in a new wave of design.  Her collections are fabulous, extremely covetable but also come with a hefty price tag.  So how do you get a designer outfit without the painful price tag?

3 ways to a designer outfit without the painful price tag

Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania collection is fantastic.  Available at Garment Quarter, there’s so many desirable pieces.  I love a printed trouser as you can see through the many features I have written and the Realm Trousers in this season’s Cracking Wall print are divine.

3 ways to a designer outfit without the painful price tag

Yes they may still be £200 but they are half price.  Garment Quarter is where the designer bargains are to be had.  You can have your designer outfit without the painful price tag.

One of the best ways to achieve this is through accessories.  They can really make an outfit and designer accessories are an easy way to make a statement, whilst allowing you to remain within your budget.

The handbag: Vivienne Westwood

One way to make a designer statement is by showing the designer’s name or more importantly in today’s world of logos, their icon or signature in your accessories.  The globally known orb shouts out Vivienne Westwood without having to be too showy.  No LV’s here or big gold lettering.  I think a handbag is a great way to have a touch of designer in your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

3 ways to a designer outfit without the painful price tag
My favourite from the Vivienne Westwood bags collection at Garment Quarter is the the classic black Envelope Clutch.  Chic and minimalistic, a sophisticated bag that you can wear with any colour and any outfit.  Your price per wear will definitely show good value.  I love the premium black leather with a Saffiano finish and the gold Orb emblem detail on the front shows the designer element without being too showy!

The Earrings: Vivienne Westwood

I have a confession to make.  I don’t have pierced ears.  Despite all the years of my friends buying me earrings, convinced I could wear them, I just don’t feel the need to get them pierced.  Although I am well aware that I am missing out on a whole accessories domain that has a lot to offer.

3 ways to a designer outfit without the painful price tag

Even so, I can still look, admire and covet.  I love these darling Rose Bas Relief Earrings  from Vivienne Westwood Earrings collection are gorgeous in romantic light rose and pink gold.  They are intricately decorated with an enamel flower at the centre of the iconic Orb shaped stud whilst a glistening pink crystal sits above.  How fabulous.  Subtle, yet striking.

The Bracelet: Vivienne Westwood

So I’m not normally a girly girl and a big pink wearer, but from the  Vivienne Westwood bracelets collection this one caught my eye.

3 ways to a designer outfit without the painful price tag

The Aeron Cuff in pink, a way to wear designer, without it having to be too dainty.  I don’t think Vivienne Westwood really does “dainty”.  I love the rock chick edge that this cuff gives and it’s at a great price.   Minimalistic, metallic and a great way to add a touch of colour to an outfit.  You can wear this with a dress, heels and a clutch or with a tshirt, jeans and wedges.  Multifunctional and pretty damn cool.

This is a sponsored post with Garment Quarter but all thoughts are my own.

Have you seen my 3 HERO beauty trends for a stunning spring look?

We’ve teamed up with New York and Hong Kong fashion blog Prêt-à-Métier to bring you the latest spring trends around the world.

LadyM Presents x Prêt-à-Métier Spring Trends

Prêt-à-Métier means “career on the go” in French. The Prêt-à-Métier team’s mission is to show women they can be both successful and fashionable. They want to inspire women to be great and to strive to do big things. To fit in, not blend in. The team posts fashion tips and interviews of entrepreneurs to inspire readers to build their own brand in the #WhatDoYouWearAtTheOffice series, collaborates with brands and organizes networking events.

Prêt-à-Métier founder, Diane Younes, is French and works as an attorney in New York and Hong Kong. She is passionate about what women can achieve when they work together and learn from each other.

Follow Prêt-à-Métier on instagram and twitter.

Diane likes to combine the simplicity of Parisian chic with the modernity of New York fashion in her outfits. This combination works perfectly in Hong Kong, where different cultures are apparent and celebrated in local fashion. For spring, try mixing French feminine details with New York edgy pieces. Diane is wearing a Zara flower-print dress, Zara bomber jacket and lace-up flats she found at a Hong Kong street market (similar).

It’s no secret that it gets very humid in Hong Kong. To stay cool, Diane likes to wear an oversized cotton top. The lace-up top is a big trend this spring. And because she doesn’t want to sacrifice her love of (faux) leather, she pairs the top with stretch faux leather pants. To really stand out, Diane finishes off her outfit with statement sneakers – which thankfully for our feet are still on-trend this spring! Diane is wearing an oversized Zara lace-up top (similar), H&M stretch faux leather pants (similar) and Nine West metallic slip-on sneakers (similar).

Like Diane, Rachel has a penchant for French style. With an addiction to Breton stripes for spring the Breton is taking on a new form, in the striped skirt. From the streets of Paris to the corners of London, a Breton stripe always works for summer. This ruched skirt from Hush is fun and versatile and can be worn to the office with a white shirt tucked in and bold heels to smarten it, or be playful for a summer of shopping and picnics, with slip-on sneakers or lace-up flats.

Rachel is wearing Hush striped skirt cotton sleeveless top from Esprit, faux leather jacket from M&S (similar) and lace up flats from Misguided.

Layering is key for a day out in London!

London fashion is all about an eclectic mix. This season take denim and wear it in a new way. Combining with the seasonal trend for neutral footwear and accessories, it’s easy to wear. Rachel is wearing Denim Shift Dress from Hush teamed with neutral heels from Esprit in soft pink and the Sarah cross body bag in Oyster from Ilex London. The pockets on this dress give it a fresh feel for this season and you can dress it up or down with a range of chunky necklaces or a coloured belt at the waist.

I have a confession to make.  A fashion confession.  I own a stack of scarves, so many that I have a drawer full of them.  Yet I don’t know how to concur up the right style from fine silk scarves, gorgeous and colourful pieces of material.

I know I need to watch a youtube video of “How to wear a scarf 7 ways”, I’ve even written features about it previously.  I have an intrigue with scarves, almost an obsession.  I collect them for their beautiful design and precious materials and this is how I stumbled upon Celia Gould and the fine work she does, achieving style in silk with her fine silk scarves collection.

Celia Gould: Beautiful fine silk scarves with an edge of adventure

Combining her love of photography with design and silk fabrics, Celia Gould has created a stunning range of luxury scarves,  perfect for a fashionista with a love for travel, art and style – uh-huh that’s me!  If you’ve seen my Instagram feed you know that I love travelling.

Each scarf starts as a photograph from Celia’s adventures around the world. She captures her perspective of beauty on camera, and prints the memory onto fine silk scarves and other luxury fabrics, to be worn in numerous ways.

I love the honesty and the clarity in the images Celia uses.  There’s something stark and almost mystical about the image used in the sell out Old City Jerusalem scarf.

Combining her love of photography with design and silk fabrics, Celia Gould has created a stunning range of luxury fine silk scarves, perfect for a fashionista with a love for travel, art and style

Celia has a story to accompany every image she uses and on her website she tells of the night that she stayed at the Austrian Hospice in the depths of the Old City of Jerusalem, with views across the roofs to the Dome of the Rock and to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.  “There was rain and the city was tense that evening, with sounds of fighting all through the night. We woke in the morning to find the air damp and full of suspense as we looked out from our window”.

With Celia Gould’s fine silk scarves it is almost like you are going on a journey.  The scarves lead you into adventure, they surround you with a story and are bold and vibrant.  You can capture the bustle of an urban city in your street style or float away to a calm landscape even in the city with London Spring, a gorgeous blend of blue skies and the warmth of blossom in the spring  time.

Combining her love of photography with design and silk fabrics, Celia Gould has created a stunning range of luxury fine silk scarves, perfect for a fashionista with a love for travel, art and style

One of the most popular in the collection is the Galilee Peacock scarf.  Found in many cultures from Hinduism, to Asian spirituality and Christianity, the peacock is an emblem of good luck, love, benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion, good-will, nurturing, holiness and sanctity. Phew!

Combining her love of photography with design and silk fabrics, Celia Gould has created a stunning range of luxury fine silk scarves, perfect for a fashionista with a love for travel, art and style

Celia explains on her website that this particular bird was seen on a day out at Gan Garoo in the Galilee.  It’s fabulous that the prints are founded from genuine images, part of Celia’s life and the story that she wants to unravel with fine silk scarves.

Combining her love of photography with design and silk fabrics, Celia Gould has created a stunning range of luxury fine silk scarves, perfect for a fashionista with a love for travel, art and style

Celia Gould’s fine silk scarves are available from £85.00 and range up to £225.00.  You can see the range of stockists on Celia Gould’s website and make sure you follow her on Instagram and whilst you’re at it follow me too!

Are you about to meet your partner’s parents for the first time? Meeting the family can be exciting and nerve wracking. You have enough on your mind – worrying about first impressions and conversation topics – you shouldn’t have to fuss about your outfit as well.

What we wear makes a significant impression. So while you’re memorising Mother’s hobbies and Father’s interests, spend a bit of time assembling an outfit that will show your partner’s parents who you are (in the best possible way).

What To Wear To Meet The Parents For The First Time

5 things to consider when choosing your outfit:

1. Wear a slightly more conservative version of what you normally wear

Instead of your favourite concert or branded t-shirt and a leather jacket, what about a nice Linen longsleeved tee and a blazer ? Instead of ripped boyfriend jeans, how about some cute chinos? You certainly don’t need to don a ‘Suitable Girlfriend’ costume; wear something that reflects your personality, just a slightly more parent-friendly version.

what to wear to meet the parents

If you’re not sure about your outfit, err on the side of conservative and covered up. It’s much better for your partner’s parents to think you’re polite and proper!

2. Avoid garish colour pairings

We all love colour blocking and the odd pop of neon, but perhaps this is not the occasion to pair leopard print and lime green. Bright, saturated colours are lovely – when they’re paired with more sedate neutrals.

what to wear when you meet the parents

Here’s two cute suggestions from British brand – Hush

3. Consider what you’ll be doing + where you’ll be going

Are you going to their house, where you’ll probably remove your shoes? If you are, make sure you’re wearing nice socks and that you have a fresh pedicure. Will you be taking the dogs for a hike? Leave the heels at home. Are you going to a lovely, upscale restaurant or to his parents golf club? Double check if they have a dress code.

what to wear to meet the parents

4. Leave the strong perfume at home

I love nothing so much as a good spray of Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum, but this might not be the right time for it. People have allergies and sensitivities. Scent is strongly linked to memory and you’d hate to arrive smelling like your partner’s mother’s least favourite co-worker!

5. Extra credit: ask your partner for input

Your partner knows their parents better than anyone, they’ll be able to steer you in the right direction. Maybe his mother collects brooches, so you can go ahead and wear your favourite one. Maybe his father has a bias against women with tattoos; you can wear a blazer and keep yours hidden for now.
With just a bit of thought, you’ll have an outfit that showcases who you are – in the most parent-friendly way possible.

Share your outfits with me by tagging @ladympresents in your Instagram “meet the parents” outfit posts.

This weekend, whilst spending time with my mum for Mother’s Day, we stumbled across some old postcards that my Great Grandmother used to collect when she visited the theatre.  They showed the actors and actresses from the productions and had amazing outfits from the 1920’s.  Something that featured in them was a fan, as a style statement as well as a practical necessity.  It got me wondering why we don’t use them so much these days.

This reminded me of an email I received last week from Victoria Speyer about her new business venture Khu Khu! A new accessories business based in Spain and London. They make modern, exclusive and beautiful fans for social butterflies seeking style and functionality, and they have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to really spread the news about Khu Khu.  The fans are hand made, using modern materials and driven by innovative patterns and prints.

Khu Khu – beautiful fans launched by British entrepreneur

Founded by Victoria Speyer, a London Arts graduate now living in Valencia and inspired by three years living in Southern Spain, Khu Khu fuses sleek modern designs with beautiful, traditional Spanish craftsmanship and really packs a punch in the style department.

Modern and beautiful fans from Khu Khu

Khu Khu Founder Victoria Speyer

Victoria explains how the idea came about: “I came up with the idea while living in Andalucía, an incredibly hot place. Surrounded by fan shops, it dawned on me what a fantastic accessory they are: innately beautiful, handy and of course, super useful”.  But despite being surrounded by fan shops, Victoria didn’t buy a single one.  They lacked the colour, style and link to today’s fashion trends that Victoria was also desiring as well as a rest from the heat.  So if you can’t find what you need, why not design it!

Modern and beautiful fans from Khu Khu

From now until Thursday 24th March 2016, you can buy limited edition fans throughout the crowdfunding campaign with Kickstarter. Khu Khu are engraving fifty of one design from each of the sub-collections –  BLOW ME from the STATEMENT collection, ‘THE FLAMINGO’ from ¡Tropicana! “THE MACAW” from “Painted Pleasure” and ‘RED KITE” from Feathered Beauty. There’s lot of different ways to invest in a piece of fashion history just check out the campaign.

Modern and beautiful fans from Khu Khu

Innovative designs re-define the intricate lines of the fan, with modern production techniques and prints from contemporary artists and designers. Victoria created Khu Khu to address a definitive gap in the UK and Spanish fan-making markets for beautiful hand fans representative of fashion and art today. You can hear all about it from Victoria through the video on the Kickstarter site.

Modern and beautiful fans from Khu Khu

This is the perfect opportunity to pre-order something unique, cool (literally) and party perfect that will arrive just in time for Summer and to be part of something memorable in today’s fast fashion era.  Get your orders in now as prices will increase once plans are finalised for production.  Get in there nice and early for a piece of something new! All fans come beautifully packaged with bespoke box, bag and care label and are 100% made in Spain.

Modern and beautiful fans from Khu Khu

Here’s the collection in action with an awesome Latino themed video from the team at Khu Khu.

Khu Khu plans to reinvigorate interest in hand fans, by offering modern, contemporary and beautiful designs which will put fans back on the map as today’s must-have accessory.

LadyM Presents started and has remained as a platform for up and coming designers to showcase their work.  Teodosia Lloyd is a Moldavian born and bred designer who first discovered her flair for fashion at the tender age of six years old.  She was inspired by her grandmother and went on to study fashion at Northumbria University.

Teodosia has had a great career in fashion as a buyer, merchandiser and luxury boutique manager in London and since then her knowledge for fashion and design has led her to create her own label, the Teo Lloyd brand.

LadyM Meets Fashion designer Teodosia Lloyd

Teo Lloyd is a new luxury womenswear brand that focuses on ambitious and fashion conscious women. Her brand’s signature is a structured classic look with a modern twist, mainly inspired by architecture.  The ready-to-wear collection guarantees high quality fabrics, attention to detail with an excellent finish.  The collection includes beautiful trousers, blouses, shoes and dresses.  Everything the modern woman could want, so lets find out more about the designer behind the collection.

Teodosia Lloyd

Q. What encouraged you to get into this industry and what was your route into it?

I first discovered my flair for fashion when I was 6 years old. My grandmother gave me a beautiful sewing machine, and I used to spend hours working away on it, making gifts for my family and friends. This sewing machine was a huge inspiration for me as it meant I could explore my own unique sense of style and explore uses of different fabrics and textures. It was a given that I would go on to study fashion, which I did at Northumbria University. I loved this course as it allowed me to fully immerse myself in the industry and I learnt so much during my time there.

Q. What is a typical working day for you?

An average day for me would be managing the business, and working alongside my design team on upcoming collections. I am constantly working to improve the business, by researching suppliers and looking for inspiration in up to date trends. I love learning and have a huge determination that drives me forward, in both the brand and the business. I also try to spend time in the boutique getting to know customers – I love to interact with people as it gives me an insight into their opinions of my designs.

Teodosia Lloyd

Q. Where are you based, how much of an inspiration is your city and what are your favourite cities around the world?

I live with my family in Leatherhead, Surrey, but our Dolly Lloyd boutique is located on Fulham Road, where I spend most of my time. London is a huge inspiration for me; I’m constantly inspired by the architecture that surrounds me, in fact my current collection has a very structured that was inspired by the beautiful architecture in London. Paris is also a city that I love, not only for it’s beautiful architecture but I love the Parisians timeless and chic sense of style.
Q. Have you seen the fashion industry change in the last few years? Have you had to adapt?

Because I have only recently launched my brand, I haven’t yet had to adapt, but that doesn’t mean I’m not anticipating it. I love a challenge and am incredibly motived to learn, so it will be interesting to see how the Teo Lloyd brand will move forward with the times, and what we will need to do to adapt. I have always had a keen interest in fashion though and so have followed the industry closely all my life, it’s clear that consumers now look to online outlets for their news, their inspiration and their shopping, and everything has become a lot more fast paced than it was – fashion weeks are now reported on through Instagram, Twitter, Snap Chat etc. so as a result the competition to be innovative and unique is even greater.

Teodosia Lloyd

Q. What’s the most rewarding part of your work? What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

My greatest accomplishment to date is launching the Teo Lloyd brand, our first collection and the Dolly Lloyd store. I’d say the most rewarding part of the job is seeing the final product; knowing I have created that design and seen it through the whole process to the end result is incredibly satisfying. Seeing women in the boutique picking out items and falling in love with them is something that that gives me such a special feeling.

Q. What is next for you? What are your goals for 2016?

At the moment I’m concentrating on the next collection, and working to get the business off the ground. I’m lucky enough to work alongside my business and life partner David (Lloyd, Founder of the David Lloyd Leisure Group) so I am able to brainstorm ideas with him, and he’s very good listening to my concerns and encouraging me to follow my heart and stick to the decisions I make. Looking ahead longer term, I would love to open more Dolly Lloyd boutique’s – perhaps having a flagship store in the fashion capitals around the world – New York, Milan and Paris. You’ve got to dream big!

Teodosia Lloyd

Bonus Question – if you didn’t do the job you do now – what would be your dream job and where?

This is 100% my dream job! However, if there was a plan B it would definitely still be within the fashion industry working somewhere like the British Fashion Council or perhaps working in fashion journalism.

The collection is stocked online and in high-end boutique Dolly Lloyd on the Fulham Road in London.  You can follow what is going on with the Teo Lloyd brand via Twitter and Instagram.

I just love it when two of my passions combine.  I’m a long time gym junkie, occasional 5k runner and have a penchant for a circuit class.  I’m also a dedicated follower of fashion, keeping on trend whilst owning my own style.  So when two of these passions combine into ready to wear activewear, I’m one happy gym bunny.

Ready to wear activewear Charli Cohen

I met activewear fashion designer Charli Cohen through her Instagram account. Which is pretty damn awesome, check out her feed.  I was lucky enough to be invited to her London Fashion Week catwalk show last September which showcased her amazing work in a basement gym with one hell of a funky runway for the models to showcase her work.

Charli Cohen trained in London as a fashion designer and as a personal trainer. She graduated from Kingston University, London in 2012.  Her talent is all about bridging the gap between performance and ready-to-wear to create ‘Active Fashion’, her eponymous, British brand is born out of her knowledge of these two passions: fashion and physiology.

I love Charli’s use of materials and bold colours, the aqua marine for SS16 is gorgeous.  The brand is synonymous with clever, body-sculpting cuts, luxury technical fabrics and contemporary fashion design.  She makes sure that gym wear, sports wear and functional fitness wear doesn’t mean boring. I asked Charli about how her fashion collection came about.

“I wanted to redefine activewear as ready-to-wear fashion. My goal is to empower women to do what they want, when they want, by creating a 50/50 balance between style and utility”.

“As an individual, I’m always seeking ways to optimise my day and that feeds into the concept behind CC. It’s about clothing to feel confident and comfortable in, whether that’s at the gym, at work or going out in the evening – you don’t have to know what you’re doing that day to be dressed for the occasion”.

I always love to hear the inspiration behind a brand and Charli showcases some great places in her Instagram account, so I knew travel must come into it.

Charli explains all, “I look to movement and anatomy every season for inspiration, but I also take it from my travels – architecture, youth culture, atmosphere – I love to people watch when I’m abroad!”

The new collection pretty cool and is inspired by comic book superheroes – the idea of “suiting up” vs going undercover. This season Charli introduced the first swimwear pieces this season but she is keen that that are a crossover to the gym and the street too.

There are a few stockists for Charli Cohen in the UK and globally, as well as being able to buy from her online store.  Check out the Stockists page on the website for more information.

If there was ever a buzz about a handbag waiting list, then this is one.  UK based handbag company GYORK London are opening up their waiting list ahead of the launch of their Spring 2016 collection. Giving you the opportunity to pre-order a piece of handbag history as soon as it is available.

This is your time to be in the know, get your name on the list and have your eyes on the prize when it comes to the next big thing in accessories. GYORK London founder Donna-Marie Donalds is all about bringing practicality alongside style when it comes to handbags. Why the name GYORK London? Well it’s a mix of ‘Gym’ and ‘Work’ two areas where a decent bag is a must for all your daily essentials where you also want a luxurious edge.

It’s like Donna-Marie has read my mind. I need a bag that can take me to meetings, allow me to fit all my necessities in and yes I do mean a laptop, two phones, two chargers, makeup, notepad and bottle of water! It needs to see me through train journeys, act as aeroplane hand luggage and still allow me to be on the cutting edge of accessories trends.

As a former Financial Risk consultant, Donna-Marie has taken the need for a handbag that accommodated her multifaceted lifestyle to launching her own label to solve the problem. That’s how you get things done! She sought to produce an alternative solution to commuting into the city every day and having to carry several bags to work and on her several overseas business trips. These multiple bags she lugged around would often include a laptop bag, a gym bag, an overnight bag as well as her handbag. Is this sounding familiar?

So if you can’t find a solution to these luggage woes, then simply do your research with some of the UK’s most revered designers and set up your own handbag label! Donna-Marie brought on-board her friend Shelley O’Neill, who is a technical expert in the fashion industry to work on the three defining attributes of the GYORK brand – how to make a handbag chic, innovative and functional. I just love how the collection is two handbags in one. Covering all bases for your luggage and fashion needs no matter where you are in the world.

The City Collection

In January 2016, GYORK London launch their latest collection. The City Collection is a well-edited range of hand crafted, Italian calf leather totes and accessories. Including the Knightsbridge Tote, Kensington Demi Tote, Montpelier Clutch, and the Harriet Purse in colours such as ox blood, lilac, and prussian blue.

As well as being truly stylish, the practicality of daily life has been considered, with compartments for your laptops, high heels, phones, wallet and event an external detachable clutch so you have two bags in one without the extra baggage. It’s such a perfect concept.

“I realized there wasn’t one bag that I could use to deliver a keynote, meet a client, or travel with my boss and feel prepared on all fronts. I knew there were other women who needed the same thing — a stylish, functional bag that could fit into the business AND life equation.” – Donna-Marie Donalds, Founder – GYORK

You can register on the GYORK London website to receive pre-launch information and to pre-order the bags once available. You can also keep up with all things GYORK London on their Instagram and Twitter feeds.

This is going to change my life, will you join me in the handbag concept revolution?

A festive knit is for life, not just for Christmas! Far to often people buy festive knitwear that is of the novelty kind, just to wear to the Christmas party, on Christmas Day or for a laugh with friends (I’m thinking my best friend’s annual Christmas Jumper Party). But we shouldn’t just restrict ourselves to novelty or to one wear per annum.

Festive Knits from Fat Face

Fat Face are paving the way for the festive knit to be for the entire autumn/winter season and they have a great selection of womenswear and menswear available that are fashionable and versatile. Steven (the fiancé) and I have been gifted some lovely festive knits from Fat Face and although the Christmas tree is not up yet, we have been sporting our knitwear this weekend as the windspeed crept up and the rain set in.

Festive Knits from Fat Face

I’m sporting the Fairisle Yoke Sweater (£45) from Fat Face, which is also available in plum and indigo, but I think the grey is more versatile and it fits like a glove, well a glove that allows room for a Sunday roast!

Steven is modelling the Windham Placement Crew Jumper (£45) from Fat Face in Woodland red, it is also available in Dark Ink. I would say that the neck is a little tight on this and the bottom is rather generous so it might be tough getting the sizing right. It is also a little Mark Darcy circa Bridge Jones era on Steven…. maybe blue would have been a better choice in retrospect.

I’m looking forward to wearing my sweater post Christmas, at our cottage in Monmouthshire where we are spending the pre New Year break. We’ll get cosy by the fire, have a TV and social media ban, catch up with our book reading and plan 2016. I know I’ll be super snug in this gorgeous jumper.

Festive Knits from Fat Face

I also think that since the Fat Face knitwear collection is not too OTT Christmas, some don’t even have a reindeer in sight, so they could also be worn on the slopes. Well maybe not over your Salopettes but for a little bit of après-ski in the local bar for sure. They’re super snug, very cosy and a great fit plus super quality wool and mohair mix.

The his and hers knitwear has been gifted by Fat Face but all words and comment are my own.
